been bikeless now for 9 days.
The bikeshop here is..... dumb.
I put my Dawg and the rear wheel of my Trek into the shop, 9 days ago, (last saturday)
and I still haven't gotten them back. I went there the other day and asked where it was and why it's not done... all I needed was a tuneup, and the rear-wheel needed to be rebuilt, thats the only time consuming part... but 9 days... and nothing... really?

I discovered a surprisingly good tire combo.
Front: 26x2.35 Maxxis Minion DHF
Rear: 26x2.35 Maxxis Larsen TT
That combo sounds like it shouldn't work, but it's actually one of the most balanced setups I have stumbled upon.

WTF is up with that ... bike?
oh, 11 days later I still haven't recieved my bike or wheel yet.
I went to the place today, and inquired about them both.
The bike is buried by a bunch of other bikes.....
and my wheel....... this irked me..
They had to have me come in and FIND my wheel, because he couldn't find it.
The service tag for my wheel is on the seatpost of my bike... I found my wheel in a corner, covered up by another bike....
it still hasn't been touched either.
When I initially took the wheel in I was told 1 hour for pickup...
11 days later..... ..... still not done.
still not even started
I'm very mad.
We are loosing daylight like crazy here, and it gets colder and colder everyday. I am loosing my time to ride. Sun started to set now, around 7:30....
grrrrr...

so ask for it back and ride it til the conditions get worse when you would ride less. Then try again.

I told my friend, and my dad that I will give them until friday, If it still hasn't been serviced.... I will write a formal complaint and submit it to their supervisor (whom I happen to know) and will demand I get my property back.

My fondest memory. That is really hard for me to think of being that there were so many. The one that does stick out a bit were the mornings that I spent out on the porch talking or on the water with him fishing. Always felt at ease and always had fun even if neither of us caught anything.
The funeral was today, was a pallbearer. Being that he was a Marine, he was able to be put in Indiantown National Cemetary. He had military funeral honors.
