He will be one of the first you look up, when you get there. Sorry for your loss, wishing you comfort and closure on the grief.

Bikes: Trek 3900. 2007 Kona Dawg

I finally got my bike and wheel back.
after 27 days....

they even had the nerve to charge me for it.
the Kona seems no different... think it actualy shifts worse. and my brakes are worse.
My rim... all the did was put the 2 spoke in. they didn't re-true or tension anything!!!!
I can hand tighten some of the spokes..
-_-

worst Bikeshop ever.
disgusting.

You'd think with all the hoo-ha over the years about German engineering and precision, that bike shops would be included in this reputation. I guess it just goes to show that you'll find hacks in every corner of the globe.

Ok, so my friend's Can'o'ale frame just broke (the same one that I had, and I rode a good bit hackishier than him), so obviously its going to be replaced under warranty, but he (rightfully so) wants to replace the frame with something else a tad more durable. The frame was a size XL, and was almost too small for him (I think he's 6'4" or so). I think he wants to spend under 400$, so I'm thinking an On One Inbred not sliding drop out. Any other opinions?

Maybe that was my mistake, I took it to the American Shop on base.

I will not do that again. I will spend the extra money (dollar->euro conversion.... ouch) and go off base next time.

for the Treks Wheel, I just wanted to spokes, I was getting a spoke tensioner and all that and wanted a shot at rebuilding the wheel, myself.

They wouldn't sell me the spokes... said they have to install and tune it. so I said fine, have at it.

I get it back and its not even close to tuned....

one spoke is tightend all the way, the other is barely threaded in at all

-_-

grrr.
I have no luck at biking components and service.

Ok, I'm off to work now, Y'all have fun!

Bikes: Something Canadian, something Italian, something American, and something German

First time off to go mountain biking in a real mountain biking designated area. First time in months! 'o course, often look for just like foot paths and other dirty areas, but this one has the single track and berms and ohhh so excited.

Me? Most definitely, should be back before 8.. but then again.. who knows..
Also looking forward to it since it's the first time here with the new XT drivetrain and juicy 7s, that should be fun too.

Went for a jaunt to the castle and back,\
got stuck in a thunderstorm, had to take refuge in the castle, got caught up in the mud, rode through to rain, did about 18-20 miles.

Just went down to the bike... I need to use a brush or cloth, its still got dirt spots all over it, but atleast the main stuff is gone.

--wanted to test out my new camera phone, so sorry about some of the pics. it was to dark for no flash, but to light for a flash lol.

Well, back from the adventure. Pulled some muscle in my leg and totalled my front wheel in the first stretch of the trail, about 5 minutes after arriving. My friend was in idiot and slammed on his brakes, and I crashed into him and went over the handlebars. That was my first endo, by the way. Anyway, wrecked my new wheel. It was it's maiden voyage too. Otherwise it was quite fun. Here's one photo, more in daily ride reports.

Two years in June. He crosses my mind now and again and every time it makes me sad and smile at the same time.

STOLEN.

Is that general enough?

I picked up somthing else off craigslist. needs a bit of work but the price was right. I'll post it up in the rides thread when it's rideable next week.

Neither can I dang it. I hate when a good plan falls apart. Bike is clean tuned up and ready to roll.

Business must be taken care of instead.

I had intended to go early this morning (school board meetings, so no school), I was even up by 5:30, but it was raining quite hard and had been the night before. And I already had plans for lunch with some friends, and I had other plans for the afternoon, and tonight is movie night with a bunch of friends. The irony is that if I was riding right now, the trails would probably be ok, as it stopped raining at 10:30 or so.
