My Big Hit DH with a Rohloff. Damn I loved that bike, I later threw a 03 Super T on the front which made a world of difference, still the nicest bike I've ridden.
The skinny tires and steep angles are because I was taking it on a XC'ish ride with friends and threw on my skinny tires and a 26" rear rim which jacked the back of the bike up, then I set the linkage for the higher bottom braken/steeper head angle. It actually felt surprisingly similar to my Enduro setup like that. It was the last ride before I moved from Washington to Whistler. Four days after getting to Whistler it was stolen
And my Specialized Enduro. Fun bike, I had it in numerous builds, from skinny tires and light with a 5" fork to big fat tires and a Jr T for freeriding.
How do I get the pictures to display in my post instead of being attachments anyway?

Is that a Thudbuster on your Enduro? If so, may I ask as to, "why?". I guess you would get about 6.5" of total travel.

Some suggestions:
Get rid of the yellow tire
Get rid of those wheels and put a 24" back on the rear end
Get fatter tires
That fork is super ugly on there
Get a bigger seat
Lower that seatpost when you take pics of the bike
Thats pretty much it, and you will have a sweet riding (and looking) bike.

Regarding comments about my old Big Hit. The picture was taken by a friend when I had it setup for XC, it was three days after I got the frame so I took all the parts off of my XC bike and put them on the Big Hit. Within a week the seat was down, the rear wheel was 24", the tires were 2.5 back, 2.7 front, the seat was a Berserker, and the fork was a black 2003 Super T which matched the bike perfectly. It was a sweet riding and looking bike, even at Whistler where there are a ton of nice bikes I was getting constant compliments on it.
Regarding the Enduro, I had two forks, a Junior T and a Fox Vanilla. I had the same headset race put on both forks so I could swap them in about 10 minutes, when I was doing more DH or Freeride I would put the Junior T on it, otherwise the Vanilla. This was before I bought my Big Hit so I was just extending the range of my Enduro, it works fine that way, I keep up with people on bigger bikes down the mountain all the time and it just surprises the hell out of them. Only problem is that the short rear travel does get a bit hard on the feet after a while.
The seatpost isn't a thudbuster, it has no suspension in it. It is adjustable by a lever on the handlebar, press the lever and the seatpost lays down and out of the way, it's great on rough trails with a lot of pedalling because you can have the seat high enough to pedal up hills then when you have to get over a 2' high log or go down a short steep section you can drop the seat back and down without having to get off your bike.
Too bad they don't make them anymore, but two other manufacturers are currently working on something similar, freeriders keep begging for them, something to put their seat up for pedaling then at the press of a button drop it down for jumps, drops, and obstacles.

The bighit got stolen? That isnt cool at all, if any of my bikes ever got stolen I would find the person and beat the sh*T out of them. That flip down seatpost thing is sweet!!!!! I have always wanted one

Here's a picture of it laid back if you're interested. It's not the same as slamming all the way down to the frame but for most stuff you'd encounter on the trail besides full on DH just those few inches down and back is enough.

That's pretty cool. You say they're not made anymore. Who did when they did?
Pretty smart concept and design.

Actually the one I saw went forward and folded all the way down to the top tube really. Are you sure yo dont have yours on backward? It would make more sense to have the post get out in front of you since you lean back when going downhill.
#471
It does fold forward, and when I've occasionally ridden with it like for super steep sections when I couldn't get the seat low enough, but my seat is a little wide so it rubs on my thighs in that position and annoys me. The folding forward position was actually only meant to be used for storage, I've found it nice when throwing it in the back of a friends SUV to make the bike shorter.
They were made by PowerPost. It's been over 5 years since they were made, nice design but the wrong time. There are other companies looking at similar designs now, with the freeride crowd growing we're finally starting to have more people who want a seat there for pedaling and out of the way for stunts. Picture the scene 5 years ago though, everyone was into XC and was a weight weenie, nobody would consider putting a one pound seatpost on their bike. Good idea, bad time.
