Red wouldn't have been my first choice, but it was the only color Tomac offered and I figured the Taos was the closest I could get to a new Manitou frame since Bradbury designed this one too.
When I got it though, I did kinda change my mind, the red with silver looks great, along with all the CNC work.

Well heres a some pictures of my XC rig, i still have some things to upgrade (this started off as an Xmart bike 9 months ago). I take the most pride in the wheels, which i built myself and thankyou rev. chuck for the help. And i got a very good price on the components.
I know the seat is high but i usehtis thing on the road (switch out tires) to get to places also so i like having the seat high for that.

Well here is my new build. I have had it done for some time but too lazy to get pics. I am enjoying it. Wish the weather would give me some rain and warm temps to really get it dirty. I noticed one thing, nobody is ever in their pics around here... why is that. It is the same over on the road forum... well thats me.

Thanks for the comments on the wheels, i absolutely love them. I got to ride them for the first time yesterday or the day before i forget, holy crap its a huge difference. dropped 600 grams from my old set and its like night and day. CLimbs like a mountain goat
. Plus i built it and i like that self satisfaction, i just ordered some new brake levers so that should improve brake quality a bit.

I just got some Avid speed dial TI's as members of this forum recommended. I went on a 10 mile road/hardpack trip to test them out and i absolutely love them! So much modulation using the speed dial, and its easy! And since no post in this thread is complete without pics here they are

My New Bike, although I can't take any credit for this as i've just bought it from a very nice chap on Ebay.
- '98 Klein Mantra Comp (in Yellow)
- Pace RC36 Proclass 2 Forks
- Custom Risse Racing Rear Air Shock
- Fox Float ?? Rear Shock (Spare)
- XTR Rear Mech
- XTR V-Brakes with Ceramic Pads
- XTR Cables
- XTR Chain
- XT Chainrings
- XT front Mech
- XT Shifters
- XT Brake Levers
- Easton Mag Stem
- Easton EA70 Seat Post
- X-Lite Saddle
- X-Lite Riser Bars
- Mavic Crossmax Ceramic Rims
- Hutchinson Mosquito UST Tyres with Slime Tubes
- M525 SPD's
My old bike, which i can take credit for
- '96 Marin Palisades Trail
- Nothing special and completely standard, nothing replaced, nothing new, never even serviced. If it were'nt for my Ebay weakness i'd have bought another new Marin!
Oh, Klein is mint condition, and only cost me £700 - I thought it was a bargin considering most of the kit is spanking new!
