Basically, yes they are the same frames, but there is a lot that makes them different.

BTW, looks like someone hacked this forum...the f*ckers!

Cheers! M2

hardtail is all i can afford at present

my ride - 2001 trek 6700 (bought used 2 years ago)

rock shocks duke fork
xt components all around
bontrager seatpost and rims (slightly out of round due to 2-3 foot drops on regular basis)
lock on odi grips
v-brakes (frame will not accept discs)

my dream setup is a santa cruz heckler for drops and local "freeride" trails, and a carbon fiber fuel ex for cross country racing

saving the big bucks now to keep the dream alive

Bikes: Trek Bruiser 2

I have a Trek Bruiser 2 (hence the name) with a 2004 Marzocchi Z1 FR ETA fork, it was half the price of the '05 and my parents would die if my fork outpriced my entire bike. I got some Wellgo B-27 pedals (I think thats the model) and I have removed the front brake due to a bent disc, not sure if I am going to replace it with an 8-inch like it had or a 6-inch. I may even leave it without. I also changed the stock bashgaurd to an MRP one. I love the way the bike looks with the all black fork and lack of bright colors, or any colors really, besdies the blue frame and the orange valve cap. I would post pictures but for some reason i cant get it to work, ill keep tryin.

Figured I would post a pic of my Superlight after the race yesterday. IMO it definately looks good in brown.

Another fine-lookin' Tomac! Damn, I dig those stays! Nice color, too.

One could say that's progressive resistance.

Nope, it definately gained a few pounds during the course of the race. However I did lose a few grams during my first crash when I lost my computer. Believe it or not the was still shifting relatively well considering all of the mud. This is my third season with this bike and I enjoy it more every time I ride it. I'm dreading the day I have to pick out a new frame.

BTW, for what it's worth I finished 6th in sport class 18 - 34. Best finish so far, losing 40 pounds and training five or six days a week really does make this whole racing thing much more enjoyable.

I'll remember that when people get after me for telling them that computers are easily lost on trails.

I have cast away my computer for trails. Before I even start, I usually know exactly how long it will be from reading about it on MTBR.com

Heres a picture of his NSX with his friends F355.... It's hard to believe, but I drive a nitrous injected 67' vw bug that's faster than my dads car and on its way to runnin 11's in the 1/4. It's eaten corvettes, vipers, you name it plus it's my every day driver that gets me to the ski resorts for downhillin' and still gets 20mpg!! -Matt P.S. Sorry, this is a little off topic......
