We didn't leave til around 6:30 - 6:45. Rode immediately to Chelsea Piers for food and drink, then rode around some more before splitting up and heading home. Good riding w/ you again noteon and Air!

I'm glad some of you guys got to ride! Was it cold? I was thinking about meeting up, but I was outside all day and I was freezing!!! Got home at 5:30 and figured I wouldn't make it in time anyway.

Mid-20s. Not bad at all once you got warmed up, but a little cold before then.

I have a bike you could have borrowed...may have been a bit heavier than what you're used to now though

On the way home I got cut off by a cab, had to swerve into a nasty pothole, split my tube right open. That was a flat I would have liked not to change last night!

Sorry to hear that dude. Glad you're ok. Did you go all sasquatch on the cabbie?

Couldn't - that flat stopped me cold. Half a second after the hit and I was running on the rim The tube had two two inch gashes in it - snakebit from an anaconda!

Tempted, but I'm probably doing a practice brevet on Saturday and my knees are telling me they need to rest tonight. Soon, though!

Do you guys ever do this on a Friday or Saturday night? A week night would be tough since I live in Babylon and have to be at work at 6 am. I would love to ride the city with a group of people that know where they are going.

This Friday I've got plans (and a practice brevet the next morning), but what about next Friday?

Next Friday is a definite maybe. Where would we meet (and where could I park), when would I need to be there, and how far? (how far isn't important, I'm just curious. A normal Saturday ride is over 50 miles)

Central Park moonlight ride is next Friday.

I usually don't do organize a fun ride on Friday or Saturday night - cars are too aggressive for my taste and I'm usually pretty booked.

OK, fair enough - then what are the details for that ride?

It meets at Columbus Circle, goes around the park, and ends back where it started. I do it most months. Not positive about next week's yet, but it's a good bet.

It's not the same as cycling around the city (no cars, cabs, buses, pedestrians, danger!) but it's a lot of fun.
