I'm heading up the west side greenway to Washington Heights from Battery Park in about 10 minutes. Don't think our schedules are lining up...

Bikes: Roadbike, commuterbike and wife's "Bike with a bell and a basket" 3 speed.

Quick Loop around Manhattan? The far East side is notably horrible to ride through! What route on the East do you take? Looking forward to riding this year. Last year I was put out of commission by SI issues. Hoping to do better this year by slowly increasing my miles instead of going hellbells into centuries too soon.

My loop is more or less centralized: Manhattan Bridge>Bowery/3rd>110th>Central Park West>7th Ave>Broadway>2nd Ave>Manhattan Bridge

I hit 4th Ave in Brooklyn to head back home, 5th Ave if I'm lazy.

Off to ride, adios!

(Too cold for shorts!)

I've started wearing cycling pants even when it's not too cold for shorts, just because it seems like a good idea, in the long run, to keep the knees working. I'm comfortable down into the mid-40s with shorts sometimes, but my new policy is knee coverings up to 60°F.

yeah. I have been living in the two or three pairs of calf length bottoms I own....they should be simultaneously disintegrating any day now. Tights seem too warm, even in winter, but these are great for me right up until it hits the mid 70s or so. I got some below the knee tights with pad for xmas, so should be wearing those soon.

My upstairs neighbor was blasting Rush at 2AM this morning, and I couldn't get back to sleep, so I didn't ride today. I'll be back at it when the rain starts...

How I wish today's weather would repeat itself tomorrow but it looks like tomorrow's going to rain and I was hoping of going on the moonlight ride.

Hey Air, I remembered there being a note about weather and cancellations at the Time's Up site, but I don't see it. Do you know the policy offhand?

Lightening or such bad weather that she won't think people will ride.

Yeah, Sunday night I was hoping to go across the BillyBurgh Bridge during the lightening storm but it passed too quickly.
