I love watching people come on to Judge Judy and spit out words they have no clue what they mean.
Some guy just tried to sue a dogsitter for negligence and was seeking 5 grand for the pain and suffering of not having his dogs for two days after they dug a hole under the fence and were lost for two days.

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non addictive, gender neutral celebration of the festive season, practiced with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.
I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally
accepted calendar year 2011, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make our country great (not to imply that USA is necessarily greater than any other country) and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.
By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms:
This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her /him or others and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.

Our club had a christmas eve day ride this morning. Only about 9 guys showed up but it was a blast. We did a quick 50 miles, with temps right about freezing.
Here's hoping everyone on BF has a happy and healthy holiday, er, christmas.
Even grumpy.

Non-bike question....
I am looking into getting a new CD player as my old one is ancient (from 1984) and does not work well.
In looking around I noticed there is a newer form of CD called SACD (super-audio CD), that supposedly has better sound.
Has anyone ever heard an SACD and is there really an audible difference between a "regular" CD and a SACD??

SACD is a higher sample rate (twice that of CD plus a bit) and requires special discs that are recorded as such on DVD media.
I can hear the difference, but I am also a mastering engineer.

I am with Grumpy. Not interested in mp3 quality music. I actually want to get a new turntable for my old vinyl records too.
Grumpy, do you think the difference between SACD and regular CD is dramatic or subtle? Obviously it depends on your system and ears. My system, if you know about old audio gear from the 1980's, includes Bose 901 series IV speakers, Adcom GFA-555 power amp, sonongraphe SC-1 preamp....
What do you think?

I think you would hear a difference, although I don't know those speakers. I am not a Bose fan.
here are the B&W 802s. I also have an Adcom, but it's the gigantic one designed by Nelson Pass with no output iron

I've ripped my CDs to high rate mp3s and they sounded fine to me.
I much prefer to just rip 'em to FLAC, though on the CD quality setting. I dunno if iPods do FLAC but my Sansa plays CD quality FLAC no problemo.
