some interesting facts about our recent earthquake. It had a Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) of over 2.2g. The September 7.1 had a PGA of 1.26g.
The amount of silt, thrown up by liquefaction, removed from streets and properties is currently 120,000 tonnes. The amount of liquefaction silt removed after the September quake was only 30,000 tonnes.
We've been clobbered really hard.

Nothing really. It is mostly the F-150. I just set the cruise, and drive it. I am sure once I get my CR-X back from paint, I'll probably end up with a few tickets. It's a bit of a cop magnet, hopefully the white paint helps. I once got pulled over doing the speed limit in it. Then I was accused of racing an idiot in a Monte Carlo that had just passed me at a high rate of speed for no apparent reason. I happened to have just gone to the drag strip the weekend before, and I still had the slip in my car. I showed it to the officer, and I advised him that if I was racing I would be in front, and going so fast he would of never caught me. Idiot still accused me of speeding, and wrote me a warning. The speed he had locked in, had to be the idiot that passed me, I was doing exactly the speed limit.

I went with an HP G72-C55DX. For the price ($500) it seems like it's pretty hard to beat.

Do you ever draft cars on busy roads, and keep up with the traffic? I love doing that. If freaks people out when they are doing 35-40mph and your right on their bumper. I did that today actually, with the single speed Schwinn. I had a Ford Expedition doing the pulling. It worked well.

wow is right. the devasting Haitian earthquake had an estimated PGA of only 0.5g for comparasion. at least we have a reasonably robust building code and decent enforcement of it.
