Phil and Andrew... rally at our place and head down? Is there a limit to the number of people that can visit at once?

I don't know Rob that well, but he sounds like he has a good sense of humour, which is key. I look at that picture and just think "that would be a sweet lavalife photo".
Lastly the turn out was amazing (as per usual!) Thanks to the regulars and the new faces for making the sprints so much fun. -Wil |

Richmond and BRant @ 5:20....check (possibly give me a couple more min but sounds good)
...that's the street where my youngest's school is. I'll be in and out pretty quickly this evening as I have an errand to run and then back to the East for Pho with the family. Does he need for anything right now? |

Youch, nasty looking pic of Rob. Glad to hear nothing too major happened to him.
|
TJ and I went along but the ladies (one of which was particularly pleasant on the eyes, IMO :)) on the Emerg. desk informed us he'd already gone home about half an hour ago, which is good news.
Now at least he'll be at home resting up. |
Hey guys I just got back from the hospital. Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. I still need to see the nuerologist and the plastic surgeon tomrorow. He told me I fractured a bunch of stuff on my face none of which name I can remember.
Thanks for taking me to the ER and staying with me nerdsgirth/herbie_glick and mitch + (sorry if forgot anyone) who took care of me. I don't remember anything that happened after we moved to the EX for sprints. I had no idea wtf was going on when I woke up in the hospital. The nurses were ftw though. I'll keep you guys updated. |
Keep feeling better!
|
Anyone have 10.5 yet? I see it's out a few places online, but if someone has already downloaded it, it would save me a lot of time.
|
Oh dude! We were looking from the start and saw someone was down. A few minutes later we looked back and they were still down... we all freaked! Glad you're - relatively - ok. The other dude - Dax I believe - was really concerned as well.
Sending A1 Danpositive vibes your way! Top notch friending everyone. As Keith said, right down to the on the spot fire fighter/supa fresh Mariononi pista rider. Will and I spoke this eve at the shop and have come up with some ways to give a loose structure that should help ensure everyone's safety. And I feel pretty strongly that people should be encouraged to wear a lid when racing. However in order to really be effective the community has to help enforce it as a whole. Not to say it's the answer, but this needs to stay fun and we need to increase the odds any way we can. How do you guys feel about that? |

You probably already know but Milosz dropped your bike off at Urbane today. |
Welcome back Rob! Hope you're feeling OK.
In other news... prototype 1 of my new lighting system was completed tonight. The batteries are charging now and I'm gonna be in the countryside tomorrow night for the trial run. :) Hopefully I didn't mess up on the calculations and wake up to find a mess of melted plastic and battery acid tomorrow morning! Turns out my old light (Marwi Nightpro) wasn't working 'cause the cable was shorted somewhere. Too bad 'cause I liked the slick connections and coiling and I wanted to re-use it for this project. Ah well. This time it's done up right with proper soldering instead of crappy crimped connections. They just don't make stuff like they used to! |
Good luck w/ the docs tomorrow, Rob.
Btw, I felt inspired after seeing Rob's pic today. After my surgery in January I'm totally borrowing someone's bike for a second and doing the post-surgery no handed trackstand photo. Just picture it: hospital gown, paper slippers, i.v. pole next to the bike ... it'll be perfect. :) Of course then I'll tip over, rip my staples out and disembowel myself all over the sidewalk. ... oh my god, the photo potential just got monumentous ... mid-disembowelment no handed trackstand photos. I think I need to stop now. Yay Rob! |
Hey Rob - glad yer on the road to recovery...
|
Hey there Robbo glad to 'hear your voice' so to speak. You live in one of the '______ Hills' right? I'm all for coming up there to keep you company if you want company. Good luck with the Dr.'s tomorrow.
Re: photos. When I was in the hospital in Berlin, I was tempted to take one of those "LOL I'm taking my OWN photo! In a hospital gown! Hopped up on pain killers!!!!! LMAO" But I didn't. Now I wish I did. All I got are pictures of the view out of the window from my room. Mike, wish I'd thought of the one-handed, arm in a sling trackstand pic. I actually did a one-handed ride down the block/trackstand with one hand while in a sling when I was London actually... |
Rob, your rear wheel was pretty mangled, but I fixed it up before Milo brought your bike to urbane. It's ready when you are. :D
Get well soon! Good to see a smile on your face in that pic. There were some pretty funny moments while I was in the room with you. You telling the groaning lady on the other side of the curtain to "stfu!", I think it was too quiet for her to hear tho. We were asked to only have two people in with you at once, so that's when Mitch and I left. Mark and Wil have some other stories that you'll hear soon enough. While you were waiting for your CAT Scan, the doctors were explaining that it was taking so long because of computer problems, and from halfway down the hall you exclaimed, "I can fix it!" Wil wrote down many memorable quotes. Hope you're doing alright! |
Hey Rob
Glad you're home. If you need anything at all, don't hesitate to let us know. |
hahaha.. oh rob! helmets ftw. drunken dumdum moves ftl. photos of you with a giant face? priceless. :P
/me shakes head in disbelief. dude I've got a big 'ol stack of bike magazines with your name on 'em. Who wants to do a Rob commute sometime soon? :) We can scare his parents. |

http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/4428/robpwnedrs0.jpg There was an old lady in the ER yelling, "Help me help me, I'm all wet!, help me, I need my father! I'm all wet!" |
Wait, is Rob's "home" downtown these days or still 300k north of the city?
