I'm biking down since it's so nice outside.

TRaffic Jammer 03-28-06 08:03 PM

is it loose?

eyefloater 03-28-06 11:52 PM

I wish I could make it out for lunch tomorrow, but work's work.

- CM this Friday (I'll be late, but I'll be there)
- Excessive drinking post-CM

I'm down w/ some burrito action on Monday or Tuesday though ... I think that's my "weekend" for the next while.

- Mikhail, Lord of the Northlands

Edit: Man, it's the week for dying footwear. My pos trainers gave up the ghost three days after I threw some new cages on my pedals. The metal is a bit rough or sharp-ish I guess and frayed apart the stiching along the sides of both shoes. Fare thee well, Dunnits ... at least you were cheap.

word.

Anyone wanna meet up for coffee before CM? Of course, this is assuming it isn't pouring rain. I can deal with some light showers, but anything more than that sounds pretty miserable. The forecast is calling for showers right now, but who knows what we'll wind up with.

TRaffic Jammer 03-29-06 11:03 AM

Floater....how is that gonna work late but there? You have a whip antennae with a flag? I'm off that day. PE day for the kids....but I want to make it down for CM. When and where boys? Does anyone know of mad crazy stupid bike shoes sales going on? This pedal thing is killing me, after 15+ years on clipless, to go back .....urgh Damn it's nice I'm riding at lunch. Hey.....has the server been fixed? Seems downright zippy.

somnambulant 03-29-06 11:29 AM

The ad claims that they don't contribute to urban congestion...cept that the trailer version is the length of a sedan and can't share a lane. The tri version is somewhat better.

I think that they meant to say they don't contribute to urban air pollution. Certainly they contribute to congestion if they weren't there before and are introduced, glad to see pics of people interacting on the sidewalk and no one trying to catch drivers eyes.

just went for a ride at lunch.. such a heart break to have to come back to lunch.

man.. I'm in love with the Linux Caffe. It's on Harbord & Grace and has been fueling me up with coffee a couple mornings a week for the past 6 months. Free WiFi with an Antenna pointed at the park across the street, which also happens to be my favorite park in the city. And when I was there chatting with the owner this morning he said they have lots of plans for events in the park this summer including guerilla theatre nights where they screen movies for free down in the park. Apparently they showed 1922 Nosferatu on 16mm down there at the end of the Summer last year. That kicks ass.

Plus they have really fine coffee from Ideal... :D

gorgeous day for riding outside. just got back from lunch with operator/rob. we had empanadas (only in kensington can you get a beef and kimchi empanadas) in the park. nice...back at work and i think rob's at mec and and giving uncle keith a visit later.
the linux cafe is great.. a bit too techy for me but i'm there for the awesome coffee. dig the view of the park from the front window.

TRaffic Jammer 03-29-06 02:02 PM

I still haven't managed to have lunch so I'm not going to bother..... maybe if I wait an hour I can leave at 4....lol...hey it is my hour lunch no?

operator 03-29-06 03:37 PM

Splendid day outside. Hope I didn't make you late for work Goki. Heh, my empanada was great.

somnambulant 03-29-06 03:53 PM

mmmmmm...

Beautiful Marinoni

operator 03-29-06 06:05 PM

Well you get the general idea. Redraw the map in pedometer.
The route instructions are probably more useful than the map itself.

32flavours 03-29-06 06:39 PM

Holy effing crap. It's gorgeous outside. Does anyone want to go for a spin? (I know, I know, I'm the worst with last minute stuff).

sr20det 03-29-06 07:13 PM

yea, I'm def. going to retrace them onto gmaps.
and today was the most beautifulest day evar! so happy it was literacy test for the gr. 10s! no school for me , so I spent my day outside in the sunshine.

operator 03-29-06 07:45 PM

Well I rode down to campus today and lunched with Goki, blasted back home up Yonge st.

eyefloater 03-29-06 08:40 PM

Yeah it seems they'd have to be pretty wide to be balanced which means they'd be taking up a lot of room on the road. We'll have to go around them and so will cars. Nobody wins.

Those pictures of the muscle men driving the ads for the muscle magazine are hilarious though.

I have to go around most cyclists and cars sitting at the shoulder anyway. At least its better than those fifth wheel versions where they drive around with the big ass sign on the trailer. Props to them for using bikes to make $.
