awww.. I was just sitting at home bored last night at 9:30. I gotta check it here more often, apparently.

See you guys at 1:30 at Moonbean. Rob: I'll have your crank bolt jobby with me. If you favor relates to CK parts, I probably can't help you. She's getting these things under the guise of them being for herself, and she's already picked up two in the last 6 weeks. :)

operator 04-02-06 09:57 AM

Alright time to fly down yonge st, need to pick up a cone wrench and some ball bearings.

32flavours 04-02-06 12:48 PM

Those beer cups were insane. They looked like chinese take-out containers. Thanks for the ride, you guys, I had a blast.

operator 04-02-06 03:17 PM

Consarnit, I didn't get that crank bolt thinger from you!!!@!@
And why is the shimano lockring tool $5, and the campy one $28?

cavit8 04-02-06 03:24 PM

And I neglected to read operator's post and subsequently forgot to "spring forward"

operator 04-02-06 03:29 PM

I'm making the face like your avatar at the moment.
Check out www.probikekit.com wicked deals, free shipping to canada as well.

somnambulant 04-02-06 03:34 PM

operator: ugh. I know! I realized about 5 minutes after we split. I wound up going for a ride around high-park... it was too nice to go directly home. :)

I can't believe the one year anniversary of this thread was just the three of us. You people are all lame! ;)

sweep242 04-02-06 03:35 PM

Lucky we had coffee in the market, not Yonge & Bloor a bomb went off in a Tim Hortons bathroom 1 dead. Crazy stuff.

somnambulant 04-02-06 06:49 PM

yeah, I just saw that on the news. Pretty scary. Right near where I (and Jeremy W) work too.

Not lame, from Saskatchewan. Even after living in Ontario for 14 years I still can't get used to daylights savings time. Or the fact that your drivers licence expires on your birthday rather than at the end of your birthmonth.

Yeah, weird about the bomb in the Timmy Ho's. I just read the blurb on the stars page.

eyefloater 04-02-06 08:02 PM

Apparently it was a literal "suicide bombing" ... but who knows? Hopefully more info will come out in the news this week. The idea of a bomb going off a few blocks away from where my gf works is more than a bit unsettling to me.

PS. Cavit8, lemon/blueberry scone action was champion.

STEEKER 04-02-06 08:07 PM

First they said he was dead and had a few burns there was little fire at all and litte fire damage to the bathroom and now later they switch it to he died of severe burns from a small can of gasoline he took in with him ,makes ya wonder eh......................... X FILES ( TRUST NO ONE )

veteran_youth 04-02-06 08:11 PM

So you have a screwed lock ring, and I'm the one that ends up nailing a pole. Free beer makes me do stooopid things.

32flavours 04-02-06 08:23 PM

Haha! I knew my non-indulgence would lead to triumph. I am made of win and good!

Edit: that really sucks. I guess you'll have to ride on the freewheel side of the ENO till you get a replacement?

somnambulant 04-02-06 08:28 PM

heh.. I'm so glad that I didn't do any damage when mine came loose. I really gotta get a lockring wrench.

cavit8 04-02-06 08:36 PM

I checked mine last night when I rebuilt my hub. Thanks, tho

operator 04-02-06 10:08 PM

I don't get it.

no kidding; that frightened me a little. luckily, i don't go for coffee there too often, and now i won't for sure.

ctv news said the fire dept found a guy badly burned in the washroom holding a gerry can of gas. one can only imagine...

cavit8 04-03-06 06:42 AM

Probably the guy was half corked wandered in to use the washroom after getting gas for his stalled car and lit a cigarette, forgetting he had a gas can between his feet. Only in Canada would a bomb-call draw a crowd.

Operator: you don't get it because you use gears, you naughty monkey.

TRaffic Jammer 04-03-06 06:52 AM

Has anyone taken the subway east into downtown? I did the other day and I always love looking out when we go over the DVP..... Has anyone ever noticed the deralict running track on the western edge of the valley? It seems accessable from the bike path, and with a little lovin' would make a great urban dirt track. I wonder who owns it?

Don't feel badly Operator, I'm a geared one as well so no lock ring nightmares....count yourself lucky....lol
Cavit8 I LOVE your new av..... a little pupil dilation?

So..... what goes on at these Crit Vacuum rides? Is this a fixie thang or are us gearies invited as well?:)
Sounds like Jet's party was a blast..... didn't attempt to make it at all, I was having a lovely evening with my awesome lady, but I'm glad it sounds like you lot had a good time.

Yeah, I don't really go over there either. I'm really curious to find out an explanation though. I think I watch too much CSI. ;)

not only is operator geared, but he also has carbon on his bike.. right rob? :P

TRaffic Jammer 04-03-06 07:03 AM

It's a vary rare occasion that will find me in one of those places.

And what pray tell is wrong with a little carbon? While I am a firm believer in "steel is real" nothing wrong with a little carbon seatpost here or fork there.

haha.. I offended Keith!

It's funny because it's a carbon-look chainstay protector. :) I actually have no problem with carbon either. Although carbon seatposts scare me for some reason.. I don't know why I think this for carbon only, but I just picture some big splintery broken seatpost aimed at my ass.

Rectum. Damn near killed 'em.

Did you change your mind? Didn't see you. Pretty big turnout-I flatted out half way up keele, so I road a lot of it solo. Felt like a had a head wind which ever way I was riding:) Man, my legs are sore, that is the first road ride of the season for me.

TRaffic Jammer 04-03-06 07:46 AM

I'm kinda shy about carbon myself, it gets all explody when it fails and thats just not how I want a weight bearing component to go.
