Bik... naw...Modelling sucks.

Only because I didn't get a Prada job (that would pay after there cut $13,000) because my thighs/calf's are too big for there pants. I could do with a pick me up... I wanna ride my bike...

one thing to think about re: brightly colours tires / fixed gear riding... you're likely to go through tires (rear, specifically) a lot faster... fancy coloured tires tend to be a) more expensive and b) less durable... stick to black or grey, you'll be happy you did.

Definitely my experience, I've skip/skidded through two tyres in only 2000kms of riding, both "blue" and in 23c. A Vredestein Fortezza SE and a Hutchinson Flash, the Vredestein on my front wheel is still perfect. I'm holding out for some Rubino Pros in the future, but for now I have some kevlar Conti ultra sport cheapos to throw on. I've spent way too much on tyres recently

That being said, I have a few blue tyres if you want to recover my cost for them (fine for front usage, I wouldn't recommend back unless you're never going to skip/skid).

Bummer Stuart - can you get yourself a cruiser bike, any bike is better than none!

yea a little... but saying that my legs are too big means they don't want me riding bikes anymore... and $13000 is not close to the amount they would have top pay to stop me from riding my bike :)

so I'm going to a market to get a bike tomorrow... I'm not sure how comfortable I will be buying a bike there (90% stolen bikes) I don't know if I can buy a stolen bike.

im going to go buy an old school single speed (like moustache bars and bars instead of cables for the brakes... and they pull up on the rim (not pinch)) should be pretty sweet... but for 650 euros...

Greeaaaaat...... Smack dab in the middle of the 24hr summer solstice race... Oh well too bad for me.

Looks good though.

Please don't buy from a stolen bike market. Thieves don't need the encouragement.

Just saw someone eat **** so hard in front of the shop. He's okay but his ego has got to be severly bruised. Cute girls walking along Harbord and he gave them a look back and high sided....too good.

Man, I pulled a total newbie move the other week. I was fiddling around with my straps (this is on my cheapie hybrid btw). They were set up incorrectly forever, so after running them correctly, I was trying to get used to adjusting them while riding before I got my fg built up. I was slowing down as I approached Queen on Beverly, reached down to loosen my right strap, unconsciously squeezed the brake a little harder, which kinda scared me and made me squeeze even harder.

Up and over the bars I went. Weeeeeeeeee!

Thankfully it was deserted, but boy did I ever feel like a schmuck.

I've never rubber-necked a hottie and bailed because of it, but I did once end up lying on someone's trunk because I was trying to diagnose a derailleur issue and forgot about the road in front of me.

I have a set of light blue Michelin Pro2's that I'd be willing to sell for cheap as well.

Yep. I actually emailed you guys earlier in the Spring to make sure it wasn't the same weekend as the 24 Hrs of Hot August Nights again, and was relieved when you weren't. Then a couple of weeks later I realized the film fest was on the same weekend as the biggest 24 Hr race in Ontario. D'oh!

That sounds like one of my old falls but it was a book that brought me down. I was returning a book to the library on my mountain bike. I had the book in my left hand and was messing around with it and it somehow got caught between my left foot and the front wheel and I went down pretty hard. No one saw but ****, that was a stupid thing to do.

It was a hardcover book so I guess that is why I went down----always try to get softcover books out of the library if you are a mentally handicapped person, you will have less accidents that way.

Wix, I am going to see what ms. Halen is up to tonight! I emailed the craigslist **** and he said that his buddy had one stolen earlier this week too! It truly is a brooks epidemic.

MEAT Hockey club (my team) is playing a motown review at the Dakota tonight if interested in heading over at some point.

So I went riding in the Don with Phil and Meghan from C.T. today. We'd finished the ride and come back down the path to Riverdale Park. Phil had already ridden down those stairs (at Queen) earlier on in the day so I talked some **** about him riding back up them. Of course he then proceeds to ride up alongside the bottom step, bunny hop sideways up to the next one and carry on all the way up to the next platform level of the staircase. I mean, seriously, what the ****.

Nice! Though I've seen what he can do just on that Breezer(?) cruiser - nuts :)

All this Brooks chatter makes me think I need to pop some chain around mine and ball/glue the nut. ****s sake

Okay, I wanted to keep it on the "d-lo" until it had healed up, but here's a photo of my first ever tattoo!

Patrick Swayze chippendale centaur FTW!

duppy.conqueror 06-07-08 08:07 AM

good cop story...was sprinting across viaduct and a cop was keeping pace with me in his cruiser...
he said: yup we're gonna have to pull this one over for speeding! and we started laughing (me nervously)
then speed trap cop saluted me and said "good sprint" as I flew by...

jokers! that was pretty rare. 3 good cops in a row? say it aint so! :D

shapelike 06-07-08 08:30 AM

Oddly enough (or not), I normally have a good time w/ speed trap cops ... the whole "how'd I do?" speed check, etc.

lol - you'll get the classiest cougars after you now!

I'm off to check out the Resurface Jam on the Queen West alleyway behind the Drake, etc. Laters gaters.

Also, MattR I couldn't remember and can't find it on your blog - where'd you get your u-lock holster? I find riding without a bag WITH a lock is a supreme pain in the ass. Does Sam/UTW carry them? It's heavy as heck in my jersey and makes the bike feel so sluggish locked around the seatpost :p

Me too, though they never tell me how I did :p For the most part I've had pretty decent interactions with the police.

And you know what horses are doing when they raise their tails like that. That is so choice. I love the Crayola TM shading and the beer cans (?) in the foreground. Who did this for you? He's gotta do my next one.
