It's been too long since we last chatted. Remember that time i brought you stiegls for fixing my rear hub? Yeah, me too. Good times. Sometimes when i think about it I just can't stop the good feelings. Anyways, on a totally unrelated note my birthday is at the end of october.

Last year I found that in/out of the bocce ball courts worked well.

Yeah, there's lots of stuff in that park. Hills, trees, sand (both bocce ball and baseball diamond)... plus it gets nice and sloppy when it's wet. ;)

i've got xbox live but i am so ****ty at COD4 i don't dare play with anyone.

i do like gears of war though. that game... that game i understand.

i don't blame you! i'm very excited; i've never had an official "paid week of going away from work" before!

we're taking the go train east out of the city, then riding along the pine ridges to a cottage, then staying a couple nights at ferris and then presquile provincial parks, and back again. we rode a similar route to the cottage last year before brad rebuilt my hybrid into a touring rig... i was on my vintage 3-speed! (but no tent etc) of course there were a lot of hills; i had to walk the last few feet of a few of them by the end of the day, but hopefully with better gears and better endurance it will be easier.

400-500 kms round trip, which isn't really that far over 8 days, but i'm sure i'll wish that the 2 rest days were a week each! :giver:

I am switching my cog, do I use loctite on the lockring too? I can never remember, thanks....

Neermind, the lockring came off pretty easily so it probably wasn't loctite'd before and it operated fine.

dont have to loctite it, just get her nice and tight, ride it a while, then tight it down agin. did that to mine and survived a pounding... i have strong legs.

thumbs improving! still f@cked, but will be back in the saddle in no time.

And rennick, I might want them wheels. Still kinda broke, but if youve got no takers in a few days we'll talk ;). Are they on IRO hubs? Looseball? I know duppys hubs lasted thru the winter, so this wheelset might be just right. I think you ran IRO hubs right dups? Bueller?

Damn. I am switching out the cog on my Miche wheelset because it was making a lot of noise; I figured matching the size of the cog to the size of the chain would cancel out the noise because my Formula wheelset is really quiet.

But, now that I have the sizes on the Miche wheelset matched, it is still making a ton of noise....when I compare chainlines, the Formula set is right on and the Miche set is off by a couple of mms. I guess that is the problem but the Miche set has a Dura Ace 16t cog, I figured it would be fine. Shheeeeeeeeeeeeit.

^^ try flipping the cog around, might shift it back into alignment. hrm. actually i dunno if that would work, but see, it might.

I was going to try spacers but I think I will try flipping the chainring to the inside of the crank. The noise shouldn't bother me but, knowing that the Formulas are so quiet, it does, heh.

Speaking of cogs, where's a good store to buy one? I know any LBS is going to have them, but maybe some are a better value than others. If nothing else I'll just go back to Urbane, they've been good to me. I'm looking to go up to an 18T or mybe 19T and am pretty much ready to convert my 17T into ninja star duty.

its all aboot the COD4... i play too much so im not half bad :D

48 and a 17T cog. It isn't crazy tall gearing by any means, but I'm used to spinning fast as hell and being able to launch out of intersections on a much lower gear and now my bike feels really sluggish with the higher gearing. I'm never spinning out on flats really and I just found riding alot more fun when if I wanted I could really mash the pedals and fly ahead of a car. I think I'm gonna find the gear inches in the gear I normally rode on my old bike and aim for somewhere a little around that.

and you can see stacey's boobs in that hugh grant movie love actually, was a nice surprise on a rewatch of that film.

Just as a little feeler, I may soon be selling off some nice track stuff. All stuff is totally unridden. I was planning on building a really nice tarck bike, but I sat on it for a long time, and now I don't really care enough to finish the build. Although those black IRO wheels tempt me to finish it. :)

-59cm IRO bikeforums fixed gear frameset.. blue (kinda an aqua/teal). Totally unbadged. King headset installed. Same geometry as the Angus/Mark V. Dedacciai tubing. Drilled for brakes, but no cable stops.
-Black Sugino 75s + Sugino 75 BB.
-Black alloy Deda pista bars.
-EAI cog.. I can't remember how many teeth off the top of my head.. maybe 17t?
-I think I might have a dura-ace lockring as well.

Also: used, but in good shape:
-unbranded (no words!), straight-blade carbon road fork with alloy steerer (cut). Steerer was too short for the headtube on the IRO.

Hrm, colour me interested in the Deda bars, let me know when/if you decide to get rid of them.

Why not build the bike up and sell it? It sounds like you have pretty much everything except wheels.
