Drunken movie ordering on CMWC weekend leads to the following being found on my doorstep this morning when I got home:

Pedal
American Flyers
Breaking Away
2 Seconds
Quicksilver
Red Light Go
Hell on Wheels

So I now have a bunch of bike/related movies, so whenever movie night is (maybe I'll clean my hellhole up and host!) I have a few. Also have a '416' Toronto alleycat compilation (from Aryeh) and the MASH /Bootleg Sessions discs too.

jeremywhitehorn 07-01-08 11:28 AM

nice - i've been wanting to see quicksilver and red light go since it came out. i just got a new large screen tv and have ample seating should you need an alternative venue for this movie night....

Flimflam 07-01-08 11:33 AM

Nice jer, maybe we'll have to put something together soon - I've only the 19" monitor to go with at my place.

TJ you have any clips/footage from your cam to showcase? Mine is mostly all unchopped still.

PS. Happy Canada Day everyone! I'm gonna go cruise to the east side I think, and get some eats somewhere in the core.

Most of mine is still raw footage unfortunately. Getting everything ready for European VacationTM, so I'll have to pass on movie night...bummer :(

This was first attempt at editing

jeremywhitehorn 07-01-08 07:53 PM

it appears a water main has burst on my street and there is now a torrential downpour happening. who wants to get out the slip n' slide and have at it?

shapelike 07-01-08 08:08 PM

We were out watching fireworks and then realized that all the bats had been flushed out of the nearby trees. National Lampoon-style hilarity ensued and I'm safely inside now. The bats ate Sara.

jeremywhitehorn 07-01-08 08:33 PM

did you happen to see vincent price in this fiasco? "ah-noooooo, ah-noooooo, a-yeeeeeeesssss!"

kergin 07-01-08 08:47 PM

Went out for a spin through the beaches - it was nice to have Lakeshore Blvd mostly to myself.

vainglorious 07-01-08 09:08 PM

nice.. i was hoping i'd have logan ave all to myself going southbound, but forgot that there was a park along there and ended up with headlights in my eyes all the way down to gerrard.. feh.

kergin 07-01-08 09:26 PM

nuts - we could have had a BF/FGSS TF group ride tonight. Oh well...

what kind of extravagance comes with a $15 tube? does it heal itself like T2000 when it's wounded?

I think they come lined with loonies and toonies for puncture prevention.

*Note to everyone ever engaging in an argument*

Feinting is the ultimate sympathy card. Only use it after completing an argument about how you can't live of XX (30 euros in my case) a week.
Crash to the floor.
Stay down for 10 min.
... (my case winning the argument)
Profit!

it was 40* today, and i didn't drink enough. Im happy/really light headed, kinda like tipsy with out drinking!

TRaffic Jammer 07-02-08 11:43 AM

30 Euros a week? Isn't that the cost of a middling entrée at a semi reasonable restaurant?

~Stuart~ 07-02-08 11:54 AM

yea pretty much... the transit is 1 euro a trip, and laundry comes up to 9 euros if i hang stuff up to dry! [Edit] that came out wrong. its 4 euros a load + 60 cents per thing of soap, so white load, and dark load.

Hey TrafficJammer, do you mind if I PM you about helmet cams? Thanks

Herbie_Glick 07-02-08 12:21 PM

Hi, I'm TJ's legal council and he won't making a comment at this time. :p

kylehutton 07-02-08 12:28 PM

got in this morning.

left banff at 11am on the 30th, and made it into toronto at 6am (4am banff time) today.
there is no smell like 4 dudes in a van driving for 43 hours straight in 25+ temperatures with no ac.

so ****ty about those bikers in Manitoba.
I was so nervous when one of the other guys was driving passing a bike along that stretch.
There is very little room along that stretch for bikes to maneuver without being in the middle of the lane.

Winnipeg appeared to have a thriving fixed gear scene, and I saw a bunch in montreal.
Banff was full of home made chopper bikes. Mixte or Mustang frames with the forks extended by 18"

TRaffic Jammer 07-02-08 12:34 PM

Sammie.... After being consulted with by the Honorable Mr Glick... (is it supposed to hurt like that?) feel free. I will offer up my opinions based on the cam I have and use.

Good grief, a large number of the people posting in the road sub-forum are pieces of crap. You suggest critical mass might be fun or that it raises awareness of cycling in urban environments, and the next thing you know, people are calling you a coward and asking if they can piss in your mouth.

somnambulant 07-02-08 03:33 PM

...well, can I?

Anyone here ride a Surly SteamRoller? I have seen them go for pretty cheap on eBay recently and I kinda want something steel again. The Soma Rush also looks nice...

cavit8 07-02-08 05:08 PM

I'm still waiting for Shapelike's pics.....
