Oh yeah, for sure, nothin' wrong with it. I'm just whinin' because I get the same bike with hockey tape patches on the bar tape and wind up with sticky black tar on my hands every time I've been there. I think next time I'm going to bring some bar tape and offer to re-wrap 'em.

Yeah I have a route pretty much, it's basically direct there at about 53km (so 106 there and back, from my place @ Queen/Roncesvalles) - I don't plan on hanging around (don't want to waste the day away) but not planning some crazy speedfest either. I figure ~2-2.5 hours each way should cut it without being stressful.

nothing set in stone though.

Anyone of you riding around Roncesvalles/Marion or Lansdowne/Rideau (near the bridge) today around 6/6:30 on a white what looked like a Roubiax? Bright green on the goggles is all I remember, heh.

Rick Mercer on a fixed gear. Oh look, four scary dudes on horses ...
I was gonna post about that but you beat me to the punch. Apparently that episode is going to be on tomorrow night at 8pm on CBC in case anyone was wondering.

Are those shows on torrent at all? I don't get TV so I'm limited to the 'net.

The Steve Bauer fixed convert has been hobbled with the removal of the back wheel. I hope the owner came to get it.

But it was super quick going in this morning, wasn't it? I was almost 10 minutes faster than usual with the help from the wind.

SW wind means it's blowing towards the NE.

Yeah, the wind is always specified in the direction it's blowing from
Also, after riding home I can verify that it's definitely blowing from the west!

I always get that mixed up ... I will remember from now on.
I do hope I wore enough for the ride home, it's short so hopefully I'd not freeze regardless.

ol' mercer didn't do half bad by the end! for all the "fixed gear" news stories we've seen in the last year - i'd say this one was probably the best. i may ride mine on the street 99.999% of the time but it's cool that they introduced the bike and it's various characteristics in context instead of the usual "oh my god! no brakes? one gear? no coasting?!?!?!" stuff we normally see.
