Everything about that wheel is quality. Don't know if cyclesolutions built the thing, but I haven't had a single issue with it. The hub itself is really, really versatile; you can use it on pretty much any frame, and the bearings are really smooth. If I were to get a better wheelset for the Jamis, I'd definitely look at a Mavic/White Ind. build. IMHO, they get out-shined by Phil Wood too often.

I know the guy selling it. If it was my size it wouldn't have made it to Craigslist. Super nice classic handbuilt! To the 17 inch Mtn bike riding folks...I have a sweet loaner anytime someone would like to hit the trails.

On an unrelated note...I am now not only a Mountain Bike Commissaire but also a UCI licensed Team Manager, Director Sportif and Mechanic. Can't wait to work the pits at Canada Cup and World Cup this year.

Wow! no guff. You weren't kidding when you said something along the lines of never wanting to adjust super cycle seat height again I can't wait for the mtb season!

Thanks guys. Coaching Theory and Road Commissaire are next on the list. Surly race officials better watch out for me this year!
I took the plunge and registered for Single Speed O-Cup this year. Should be interesting.

somnambulant-Sorry I missed ya, out stuffing my face and wrestling bank officials, lady at scotia is a real biotch!

cavernmech-Good for you dude! I'm up for coaching theory if you want to go together. I also will be racing SS this year! With the mass start maybe we should wager on who can obstruct Maki and Brad the most through out the season? hahahahaha

I didn't think Maki was racing S.S. this year? I make no presumptions on taking a better start corral position from those guys...you on the other hand? ITS ON!

The downside is that you have to hassle the OCA to let you race in age group if you decide halfway through the season that it isn't for you. Different plate #'s etc..

I don't see it being so bad that I couldn't bear to stick with it for the season.. that's only like 6 races. But yeah, I'll wait 'n see for now. I don't even have a SS bike yet, so that makes it a little tricky to race in the SS class.

I gotta talk to Nelson (or someone..?) about what's available. I have my eye on a number of different options, but none of them are brands listed on the CS site other than Fisher. But I imagine they have access to brands that aren't necessarily their main stock. I mean, I'm pretty sure they carry Steelwool and Orbea, for example, and neither are in their 'bikes' section of the website

Peter Morse does it....most others don't consider it. O-cup courses tend to be pretty technical.

26 or 29? Do you want a whole bike or do you want to use some existing parts, wheels etc? The Kula 29 is available in a frameset. You know how I feel about mine. The UNIT is pretty economical. There was a 19" Fisher Rig on Craigslist a while back. Beaches might still have a large KHS SS 29er. If you had time Hugo could do up a custom for ya...talk to Johnny, Columbus Spirit...droool!

29er. I think I'd be happy with a frameset of some sort. The wheels that came on the Roger are a WTB SX24/SingleDuty wheelset, so I could easily use those for both setups. I still have a total ***** for the Niner stuff, but I just don't know how realistic it is to actually get one in via the shop. Tech-wise I like the Kula, but it just doesn't have the attraction-level for me.

I like the Gary Fisher Ferrous 29er (not sure if it's available as a frameset). The Niner One9/Sir9. Redline Monocog Flight. On-One Scandal 29er. Van Dessel Ramble Tamble. etc.

Who's Hugo?

CM, if I can't swing the finances in time to buy a bike in time for the Ice Breaker could I use your extra bike?

Sure...its been sitting all winter...I will make sure to get it down to C.T. a week or so before so you have time to tune and get in a few rides.
