Hey, only i'm allowed to have a red bike here! Nice cannondale man. That would've been what i'd buy if I was in the market for a new frame. That paint scheme is ridiculously nice. Where'd you buy it? Don't sell your sputnik, use it as a beater.
Thanks again to krusty for the campy headset. |

I seem to recall carries Sporting Lifes "bike" shop carries(d) Cannondale.

Wes game me a Swobo box that contained mike's bia ch :) . FYI It measures l+w+h =238. I am registered with Air Canada for bike freight which is an extra $50 each way. The max size box they allow for a bike is 203 cm. Are all cardboard bike boxes the same size? I guess I am going to modify it to please the man (although I don't want to compromise its *amazing* structural integrity). If you don't care about your bike you can put it in a big plastic bag and sign off on liability. :o Also... Bruins stink Habs rule! |
google it. There's a lot of descriptions on how to do it. You can get a pretty tight fit.
|
I seem to recall that Velotique rents hard shell bike cases for travel, if you can't get the box to work.

I have absolutely no idea how to fit frame and wheels into this modified box. It is tight when just the frame and fork are in there. And that's without padding! Any ideas? At least I have a 70lb limit for a bike!!?!?!?!
|
Maybe the 203 cm is just the limit for normal checked baggage?
I've brought my bike on planes a few times and the boxes have always been well over 203 cm in total dimensions. In my experience they just ask if it's a bike and I say yeah and they charge me the bike fee, they've never pulled out a measuring tape. But I've only brought my bike on US Airways flights, give Air Canada a call and see what they have to say, stupid airline baggage constraints. |

This is about as off-topic as I've ever been (2G1C excluded), but is it a thing in hot air ballooning that all the balloons are supposed to look unique (pirate flag styles or something)?
|
...speaking of hot air balloons....? My early memories of hot air balloons always involved some corporate logo (like remax) advertising on the balloon itself. maybe that's the mainstream and there's a whole hot air balloon "counter culture" out there?
|
They're hipster balloons.

Back from the Icebreaker. I really can't imagine doing the long course. there was still quite a bit of snow on course and there were several unrideable (at least by me) sections. The S.S. was absolutely great. I was already in love with my 29er but now it is official. Even fully rigid I found myself passing lots of guys on fully suspended bikes. 17 in the S.S. Short course cat. Maki (veteran youth) killed it coming in 2nd....fixed! The only fixie rider out there and 2nd to boot. Awesome! Wes and I finished 10th and 11th respectively, with Wes holding off my hard charging sprint with a well placed elbow. Just kidding...I was 20 or so seconds behind him. The team did great overall with many podiums. GOOD TIMES!
Tom Boonen won Paris-Roubaix today too......YAY! |
