I totally just yelled at someone I thought was Jeremy W on Spadina by the LCBO. It was not him. Embarrassment ensued.

Toronto -> Hamilton -> Toronto
I plan on dropping off some movies at the Hamilton General Hospital to a buddy some time mid-week... Forget the GO bus.
Riding there from Toronto, anyone got any advice on good/bad roads? Suggestions? Comments? Stragglers who want to come along for the ride?
Google says just under 70km by highway, I figure close to 80km by side street (maybe), so there and back in a day... (distance isn't an issue, but fixed might be)
Alternatively, someone have a couch I can crash on in Hamilton? I'll buy dinner.

That Niner is nice. Wish it was scandium rather than generic 6001. 17.7 chainstays FTW!

Bikes: 2005 Specialized Sirrus Hybrid, Unpedigreed steel frame fixie conversion (Force Disorder Pump), Pugeot UO9 fixed conversion (Red Menace). Lots of parts scattered about garage.
Where are you (general area) departing from in T.O.?
Going along Lakeshore (Hiway 2) is nice but sometimes busy. It jogs towrds the lake at Erin Mills - you can stair-step down to it along Royal Windsor.
I'd suggest for the 'approach' to Hamilton you want to take Plains Road in Burlington (Fairview turns into it) across the High Level Bridge (runs parallel to the 403) onto York Blvd.
I keep meaning to do that ride me'self but its a 3-5 hour chunk of riding coming from Stoney Creek.

I didn't say legal way of procuring. I have had the same jack***** honk, pass at high speed way to close, then sit in the daily line at the Parliament/Gerrard intersection 3 times in the last 2 weeks. I would LOVE to send my new friend a nice greeting card.

edit: However! it looks like you can get a vehicle abstract (which does not include an address) using a plate number but does contain the registrants name.
edit2: You still have to self-identify at some point. I walked my way through it to that point. It may be easier to talk to the fuzz who're guarding the road construction, after bringing them coffees or something.

I can't recall what I had to enter when I got mine, but looking at the online form, it appears you have to enter your drivers licence first. There's an option to skip all this and just use enter the plates at some point, but if you got through it and paid at a kiosk you might get in the soup 'cause they'd have your card # and it appears you'd be in violation of the privacy terms.

I would do something very similar to the Surly blog post. Nothing threatening. I will consult the local Po-Po. "A customer was asking me...."

Yeah, you could always put down your happy neighbour
For anyone who doesn't venture into the main forum at all, I posted a review of the On One other doofer
https://www.bikeforums.net/singlespeed-fixed-gear/414050-review-one-other-doofer.html if you're considering an offroad conversion.

Are you sure you just need the plate # for that stuff? I would expect you would need the VIN instead.
VIN works online for Carfax, but it will just show you how many times it's changed hands and where it was registered each time, insurance claims, etc. MTO package will tell you who the owners were and their addresses. I have had people contact me about cars I have sold years ago (classic sports cars). Current plate # used to be all that was necessary. MTO database seems to be linked through the VIN to all the other database fields, but it is the current plate that gets you there.
