No actually....skidding is useful to position your crank orientation when riding in close quarter traffic. If you want to make 2 quick 90 degree turns....like when you need to get around stopped traffic....skidding/skipping is invaluable. Try hammering thru downtown traffic on a tight wheelbase track bike without skidding/skipping. You wont get anywhere very quickly. But once again I bow to your superior fixed gear wisdom and intellect.

Yep, I have a TRP carbon cross lever for OS bars. I'm using the left side of the pair, and you can have the right one if you like. It takes a standard cable, but to properly seat the swaged cable end, you will need to enlarge the hole that the swage fits into very slightly. I don't have any spare brakes, I'm afraid, except for a rear Record.

oh i like that. just the right amount of bling. i hope the part you have to carve out is plastic, not carbon (googled picture confirms that it probably is, just want to be sure). how much?

The clamp section is actually aluminum, as is the part you may need to work (don't worry, it's quite easy, and very little needs to be done. You could also remove a small amount of material from the cable swage, but that's not the preferred way of getting it to fit. It has a reach adjustment on it too that works quite well. How does $0.00 sound?

Just checking before I go and use it, I'm switching out the cog on my MASI and wanted to make sure Blue Loc-Tite was ok to use. No problems with Blue Loc-Tite yes?

blue is good, red is bad

Thanks

Since i've been told in no uncertain terms that i'm a giant penis, it'd be wise for me to just stop posting.

Edit: Also I can create that thread herbie mentioned for some mega lulz before i'm perm banned.

missed encounters: was that danhalen i saw riding a cervelo on davenport yesterday afternoon? keith, i think my BB needs your sweet love. It creaks and groans at me, "service, give it to me..." Just a vicious clicking when I pedal out of saddle.

So the postman brought me some NOS Campy Omega V hard anodized rims today. Would it be considered heresy to build a Nagasawa with full Campy components? Or should I build these rims up separately on Campy hubs for my Wilier, and build the Nagasawa with full DA?

i'd go full DA with the Naga!

what are the chances that anyone here is an NFL geek? i have 4 tickets to the Buffalo Bills game against the Pittsburgh Steelers this thursday at the rogers centre. face value for each ticket is $175, but i am open to a VERY BROAD RANGE of offers. these are great seats with a full view of the field and the jumbotron: Section 525, Row 5, seats right by the aisle!

game is thursday, august 14, gates open at 5:30, kickoff at 7:30. if you are interested we can take cash or trade. email me at: aaronu///gmail

end of shilling.

i'm a huge NFL geek and i would have taken you up on that offer, but i managed to let myself get sucked into some dinner party with some friends.. anyone feel like filling in for me? all you need to do is sit there and look pretty and shovel insane amounts of food in yr mouth, drink beer, and make occasional crude remarks/jokes.

ps. wasn't there someone looking to rent a tandem bike in the city?

DA it is. I got a great deal on a new DA crankset today from Mike Barry, so now I just need hubs and a BB. I'm thinking of taking the Campy stickers off the rims I got today, and just leaving the Omega V ones on, and lacing them to some DA hubs. They are tubulars, mind you. I don't mind riding tubulars on the street, but since I literally haven't had a flat on a bike since 1977 (making an appropriate sacrifice to the flat Gods right now), I'm not sure if I want to tempt fate with them.

I wouldn't bother at all - just put a nice amount of grease and crank that ****er on there. Same deal with the lockring and you're good to go!

Edit: Kergin beat me to it.

Usenet is where it's at! I have a friend who almost lost his house due to non payment of property taxes due to buying too much internet porn.

Actually, I've been married for the last 4 yrs to a considerably younger lady, so I no longer need Usenet.:D
