As I'm lazy and have no concept of planning/ food shopping, I almost always buy lunch. If I go to the market my lunches are never more than 6 dollars and are generally more than I can eat (or at last enough to stuff me). One less thing to remember, not much more expensive than bringing my own food, I don't have to make/bring anything and WAY more tasty. Now that my summer student buddy (I used to baby sit him) has gone to university I tend to get some take out, find a nice spot and sit and read a book for an hour. Really helps me unwind in the middle of the day. In fact its time to do that RIGHT NOW.
Once the winter starts I may have to start sitting inside in the main hall of the BCE place on the steps of the old bank facade.
