What do those guys charge for a powdercoat on a bare frame? Do they prime it first (not sure if you need to prime with PC)?

We got quoted around 40 bucks/frame, for a non-custom colour. Not sure on the priming thing though. I don't think powdercoat requires it, although I could be wrong.

Nope, I stripped the frame myself, and Robin got his Schwinn off of Ebay already sandblasted. You've got to give it to Spectrum down to bare metal, because they don't do stripping/blasting. Speaking of which, I've got a half-full container of indoor-use paint stripper, if anyone wants it.

Hey guys, also, take some time and make sure there is nothing inside of the frame that might heat up and drip, stuff like grease or resin. That happened to me and it kinda marred the powder-coat. I don't have any PMs, are you guys good to get there yourselves?

Ya, I called him today and talked to him too. If it'd been a Ciocc it would have been in my living room by now. Wasn't that bike company (the one dude's selling) a subset of Gardin?

Edit: it would have also helped if the bike actually fit me. ;) sr20det, I might have a line on some Pulse frames. Let me know if you're seriously interested in one and what your size is. If it turns out this isn't another "outdated webpage from years ago" situation I'll let you know.

Yeah, I talked to the guy as well and the frame is my size, I just had my heart set on a gorgeous Ciocc *sigh*. The pics he sent me are really nice and the colour of the frame is gorgeous, I will think about it a bit more.

If you do get a line on a Pulse(s), please give me a PM as well, I have a soft spot for GTs and that would be a nice fill-in until I find a Ciocc :) Thanks.

i got a cambio rino steel road frame off ebay just some months ago for $250. no way i'd pay $450 for a cambio frame. that's at least $300 US, and for that amount, ebay has tons of good frames.

This one has never been built up and the pics that I received show a really nice pearl-white colour. I won't be buying it or anything, but 450$ for an unbuilt steel track frame isn't too nuts nowadays. How is your cambio? Like it? Is it an offshoot of Gardin or was Gardin just the supplier for the brand in Canada? Thanks.

If you want a dark roast, check out the coffee place in kensington-not moonbean-that has a weird atomic looking sign in front. They roast thier own beans, which is critical to getting fresh, good coffee, unless you are going to roast your own. I find whole beans are going stale after 10 days or so.

Moonbean does mostly lighter roasts, even thier expresso. I prefer these. You might also want to check out balzac's in the distillery district. Pretty good too.

I dunno the name of the bean, but Alternative Grounds on Roncesvalles has some great coffee and espresso beans. It is fair trade coffee, meaning that the growers get a fair price and are not ***** a la Starbucks. Check it out, also, if you are near Roncesvalles, there is another coffee shop called Cherry Bomb and the owner is a bike nerd and has a bike hung on the wall. He changes it every month or so; right now it is one of those inverted-fork racer things, but he had a gorgeous Cinelli raod bike up there a few months ago.

There is also Ellington's on St. Clair W. just west of Christie. He'll actually fresh roast green beans for you or sell you green beans you've roasted yourself, which is the only way to enjoy a truly authentic cup of coffee.

Kick Ass is my current favourite! a darkish roast with some medium mixed in. very flavourful. best made in a french press coarsely ground. you won't be dissapointed.
