BBQ is a GO I'll be by Cavern to give directions tommorow during the safety meeting. I will also answer any and all PMs for the locale and my digits. Start up time around 2:30-3:00 BYOB and something for the grill won't be argued with. Feel free to drop by just for a bit or at the start or end of the ride. Taping and photos for all!
GOD today was great. Dan good hanging with you. See you all/some tomorrow or Satureday!!!

Yes, breed banning is good political fodder. And I used to have quite a bit of respect for Michael Bryant.

In one attempt to measure biting pressure of three dogs, a pit bull scored lowest of all, less than a sheppard and a rotti. Granted, it's not a scientific study, but neither are your claims. I see no reasons to claim that a rottweiler or a cane corso or a bull terrier or a ton of other dog breeds has wearker jaws than pit bulls.
The problem with this is that people just switch to other breeds of dogs. Outlaw pit bulls, they'll switch to rotties. Ban rotties, they'll find something else - there are lots of big strong breeds to choose from who would actually make more dangerous "pets" since they naturally show more aggression towards humans, on average. Singling out one breed like this does zilch for bite statistics. Every single dog expert I know of is against breed bans since they're useless and cruel. It's not at all like banning guns, it's like banning only revolvers. What would work is keeping good track of dogs with a history of aggressive behaviour and taking strong measures with their owners, since basically all dogs who've ever bitten somebody to cause injuries have a prior history of aggression building up. Alas, that takes money and political will. It's much cheaper, faster and more popular to just ban a breed: does nothing to solve dog-biting problems, causes much suffering to thousands of good dogs and their owners but scores easy political points. Cavernmech: Can I bring by my bike at lunch today for you to do a little quick true on my rear wheel. I tried to do it last night and just made it worse, so I figure get the professional to do it.
On a somewhat related note, I was putting Rolling Stone's Top 500 Songs of All Time on a memory stick for you, but it was taking too long (it was 2.8 gig or something). So next time I will hook you up with some sweet tunes.

Also: I actually remembered to take the P-A waivers with me this morning... yay me! Of course, I guess I could have printed them at work too, but that would also likely be forgotten and now they're already in my bag. Now we just need to remember to sign 'em.

Heya, is youse guys still interested in Bike Pollo?
May 13th, on Toronto Island, times TBA. Team registration contact TBA. Dual attractions, attend the first TOBMA bike polo event & the first criterium on the Island in a Long Time, (I don't know, but I'm betting there have been races out there before, just not in a long damn time, if it's the first, well then, that's even better)
Many of you know Ziggy, a cool frood who throws many a badass race, well Ziggy is running a criterium on the island, which will in fact go on around the polo grounds! to your left, bike polo shenanigans, to your right, high speed action for every level of rider!
Maybe you could settle your doglike differences on the polo fields of death! Crotch sniffing Labs Vs. Poo-eating Pits battle to the deaf!
So you figure there are enough on BF for 2 teams?

the fact that you said "cool frood" has snagged me.. 'm in.
also, now THAT'S hill:

"It isn’t long. At 1.2 km the Keutenberg has an average length for Amstel, but it’s a mother. The website says it’s only 8%, but that’s absurd. The sign at the top says 22% and warns cyclists to dismount when going down it. Ciclo gave me a reading of 20% in the middle and I *#%$§ swear the first short ramp, it’s maybe only 100m, is over 30%. That must have overloaded Ciclo’s chip. Keutenberg is to the Amstel, what the Muur or Koppenberg are to Flanders."

also: safety meeting should be interesting tonight.. you DO realize it's 4/20, right?
22%??? That's mental.
I wish I knew what some of the Toronto hills are, grade wise.
