Some think it's silly to split SS into a separate field, arguing that riding SS is an equipment choice rather than a different class of racing.

After some consideration I think I know where I'm going for dinner.

Jensen's Food and Cocktails | Classic steak and seafood restaurant in Eagan, Minnesota

I guess it depends on field sizes. The SS fields here are still about 30 deep here, so not too huge. Maybe more people would race SS if there weren't so many 1s, 2s, and 3s riding it.

The biggest cross series around here doesn't start 'til this weekend, will have to see what kinda fields they get.

lately ive been getting calls from some number in jersey city i dont recognize, finally i decided to pick up and see what the deal is

i say hello, and sit in silence for nearly 30 seconds.
finally a woman asks is this xyz?
i ask who is calling? she gives me "her first name, from ACR"
i ask what is ACR?
she says alpha recovery group
i ask what is that? she says it is personal to xyz can only tell him or a spouse
she says "so you are xyz thank you-*click*"

stick it in an envelope and ill give you $1, and thats being generous.

Actually not. There are two first classes in postage now, one for letters and the other for parcels (used to be Parcel Post) even if they are just in a thick envelope. You can't just weigh the package.

Yes $8 is outrageous.

Man, you gotta learn to smell bill collectors and stay away. "There is no XYZ here and never was," is the only acceptable response to her very first question. Trying to play with them is a very bad plan.

I would guess the mount to be too wide to fall under the letter category, but still a parcel of that weight wouldn't be anywhere close to $8. I'm guessing they're recouping some handling and processing cost as well.

I get those on occasion from a Community College in Michigan asking me to pay my student loans.

It usually takes five minutes for the person to figure out that I'm not who they're looking for even after I tell them multiple times that I never went to school there and have no idea what they're talking about.

Yeah, I meant to say that it would cost about $2-$3 at the post office.

...there's some bozo who used my SSN and address to fill out some kind of credit application for the base exchange (at Andrews AFB, I think) back in D.C., and about every six or eight months, something else pops up here trying either to collect money or to find him. They usually assume I am him, but using an assumed name.

It is awkward for me, because I sometimes forget my name. :(

2-3 in postage, time to get it there. I understand most folks think labor is worthless, but 5 bucks to deal with the post office is a bargain.

Oh....

That's your SSN that I used to fill out that credit card application?

BTW, I had the credit limit increased a week or so back. So, don't be surprised when you see a PayPal for $20,000. It's the Specialized Mark Cavendish Venge that I just bought.

Well, after 2 or 3 rounds through witness protection, it can get cornfusing.

stamps.com-done and done. Print the label at home and drop the package off at the PO or just give it to your carrier. No muss, no fuss.

When I get calls from vacation and time share companies and they ask when I can come, I tell them any time since I don't have a job but I have to bring someone with me because I don't own a car.

They almost always say thank you and hang up.
