When Mrs. rpen was about 5, she wore a hole in a 45 rpm copy of the recording of "How Much is that Doggie in the Window?" Instead of buying her a new record, her parents bought her her first Cocker Spaniel. Supposedly less grating on their nerves. I guess.

BTW, what Stoney was talking about is different than what you experienced. Your reschedule at the last minute was either a scheduling screw up- double or triple booking (which most doctors just suck it up and see anyway). Or last minute procedure that had to be scheduled, something urgent. Or the sudden need for the doc to take the day or part of it off- sick kid, crown that fell off, or appealing tennis match.
Explain why I would have to wait almost an hour at the rheumatologist, as I did the time before last?
