As far as cubes go it's nice. Neighboring desks are empty (work from home people), it faces a big glass wall looking out over the parking lot and some trees with a hawk nest, and easy access to the exit without having to pass by the door for any managers.
Can't complain. #cubelife.

A friend of mine was involved in a car/bike accident. He's in the ICU with a head injury (amongst others). The prognosis is not good. They can't medically relieve the pressure on his brain. His parents have flown out from the UK. His wife's family are also in transit from the UK.
It's a huge shock. And very saddening.
Take care out there everyone.

Vain, But Lacking Talent
I don't know a whole lot about Las Colinas, but I did ride through Irving a lot when I lived in Arlington and rode my bike to Dallas for the bike shop job. Oddly enough, Irving was actually great for cycling. Lots of bike lanes and sharrows throughout the city, and most of the drivers were nice enough. Maybe not great for long rides, but definitely not a place that I would consider difficult to ride through/out of.
From Irving, you could make it right up to Flower Mound which is where a lot of the north bound group rides that cross into my neck of the woods seem to originate from. Also, there's a Bicycles Plus in Flower Mound. (Still find myself plugging those guys years later.)

Which is why many of us were shocked when, a few months ago, a local cyclist I had ridden with for years went off course and smashed his face into a tree during a warm up lap before a CX race and was declared brain dead a few days later, prompting his family to remove him from life support. Very sad.

So I'm almost afraid to post this hot topic here, but sweet lord, this looks scary.
Short version: Pro racer involved in crash has super clean cut right through his shoe caused by a disc brake rotor.
The last time this accusation was thrown around by a rider, there were zero pictures that could definitively point to the disc as the issue. That is a REALLY clean cut down that shoe. That would scare the hell out of me if I saw my shoe like that after a crash.
I have to say, the UCI does not seem to know what they're doing here. It seems like such an easy job to require CF covers for open leading edges. It only took one freak accident in MotoGP before brake lever guards became standard issue.
EDIT: Ha! Some dude posted this 10 minutes before me in the 41. Surprise, surprise. Please feel free to disregard this post.

Edit: Flower mound in general is cycling central around here, due to close access of awesome road routes with no traffic and actual climbing, and world class MTB stuff.

Even without going that far, you could just relieve the edges of the disc. Hell, the rounded edges could double as wear indicators, assuming the pads are grabbing all the way to the edge.

Good idea. That way nobody can move your desk to the basement if you're sitting at it. Better come in on Sunday, too, just to make sure.
