My understanding is that the banana industry has a strain or two waiting in the wings, but that's about it at this point (and we've been on the current variety for decades), so yeah, they're rather protective.

Ya know the New England missionaries on their way to Hawaii in the early 19th century forced themselves to eat bananas to accustom themselves to the indigenous foods. Between the seasickness and the strange taste, they couldn't keep them down.
Damn I love those things. And ripe, I like them ripe. None of this half green crap that so many people insist on. Fruit is supposed to be ripe dammit. |

I still prefer the mark Cavendish variety.

Wife apparently just woke up. She also went to bed at 9 PM. She's getting some high volume base training in for the upcoming sleep championships, I guess.

I rotate my tyres so I had to take off and replace both the front and rear ones. I should do something with my chain but that's enough dumb bike stuff for now; I'm exhausted. |

I read the wikipedia article about Lucy.
Fun fact: Lucy is a male elephant (because tusks). |
I once worked with a man named Shirley

Also, I finally tried the much ballyhooed sofritas burrito at Chipotle. Well, by datlas, at least. It was okay. In terms of texture, it often got lost in the other mostly soft contents like the rice and beans and I would have liked a little more spice/flavor mixed in, but I'd get it again when I'm not feeling the meat.
|
Well, it would make sense that runners, to some extent, cheat just like everybody else involved in sport. But for some reason I have trouble thinking of them that way.

I think you're right. Clear misuse of the word on my part. We don't even have to call in the resident grammarian on this one. |

Going to Thailand reminded me that being tan is fun. My wife reminded me that being tan is going to turn me into a shriveled peanut with melanomas requiring removal.
Win some, lose some. |

Win some, lose some. So, go forth and sun yourself my son! |
