Crit was fun. Broke away on my own, then my friend bridged to me. We held it until two laps to go. If it wasn't for the prime maybe we could have held on. My other friend got second in the sprint. I think I could have done well in that sprint as it was slightly uphill and it doesn't look like they went all that hard, but I got lazy about positioning so then I was too far back and someone crashed in front of me. A wheel flew through the air, which was fun to watch.
RR tomorrow is three laps basically going up and down a ~10 minute climb. Never done a climb that long, but I reckon I should be able to do well. Looking forward to it. |

Glad I checked with the brain trust on washing the cap.
Almost tossed it into the wash. Would have been $27 down the drain. |

I have been bi-curious lately, but I'm thinking that, at this time of year, it's just going to be another thing to impede air flow to my noggin. Maybe in the fall.

Nice ride today, except for the miserably hot bits. Temps ranged from 75F down along the shore up to 103F inland for the steep bits.
One broken derailleur hanger (thankfully not mine), turning the fat bike into a single speed. One buffalo. One fox. It was a Ride of Ones. I think overall we did something like 28 miles and 4000 ft of climbing. Lol the fat bike's cadence for the ride wound up varying from something like 25 to 160. Only time I can ever drop Coach is when he is spinning out on the flats on a big fat heavy Fat Bike. ;) Next up shower and then a little recovery time at the bar. :) http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/x...304BA77F0F.jpg |
No cycling activities today. Music activities instead.
It rained, but we HTFU and played anyway. Strava unavailable. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Md...K5rx4os3g=w800 https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/eY...g=w716-h537-no |

Nice work. Rough day for someone.
LAJ - how was Deer Trail? Go line up, find out the 50+4/40+4 guys wadded it up big time. One of your guys, or former guys, Brent the photographer, is pretty bad. They sent us back out for 20 minutes to warm up some more, as emergency equipment was still on the course. Neutral start for a couple miles, then turn on road 38, and they light the afterburners. Of course. I hung in, typical surge out of every corner. Lap 2, there's a Mod Market guy up the road, and I figure since they have like 10 in the race, that' s a good guy to get up to. I break out, get to him, pull him along a bit, he takes a pull, I take another, then he says... "I didn't really plan on doing this" and lets off. Crap. Hang with the pack, terrible position last corner, grind up the hill to the finish, and had to have passed 15 or more. Still sucked it at 18th out of 46. The pile up in the earlier race was still on my mind, so taking chances wasn't really on my radar today. |

Indian curry. Shrimp today, fish tomorrow. There's no such thing as vegetable curry.

I just paid a visit to the banned users thread, and found at least three that are on my ignore list, for generally being offensive (to me). One of those 3 is a mod. If I'm not allowed to say that, I ask the mods to pull this post.

The rain messed with everything. No dirt section, which was OK, so we had 4 laps instead of 3. It was said everything was set back an hour, so I moseyed on up there, then got stuck in northbound I-25 traffic. No sweat, as I had time to spare. Get my numbers, find out everything is now on schedule. Typical, but it's a RR, so warm ups are over rated.

My shrimp curry was good. Brain health meal. Turmeric is very good for you.
It wasn't entirely accurate that vegetable curry doesn't exist. You could throw some cauliflower in your curry and call it veggie curry. |
