Isn't that more "preppy" than "yuppie"?
Or "Situational". And I'm still not clear why NY hasn't occupied NJ yet. |

Crap. I was semi-joking when I said that the pies were 4 lbs. Turns out I underestimated - 4.7 lbs.

8-2-10. A day that approaches 20 pages. Unlikely to be sustainable.

40+3, valygrl. The construction deal was a big issue for me, and totally on me, as well. Going from a sketchy 2 lane to a sketchy 1 lane bugged me big time. I wasn't nearly as aggressive as I needed to be, so I slowly worked my way backwards. Of course, every lap was a massive acceleration out of that corner, and it began to be a single line. I got caught behind a couple guys that cornered worse than I was cornering, and that was it for that.
After seeing footage of the wreck yesterday, I'm very happy I was aware of what was going on yesterday, and finished on two wheels today. It's as brutal as anything I've seen in bike racing. |

I look forward to the Cervelo Man updates. The place certainly turned zooey upon her arrival. I am now within 65 pages of the end. Looking forward to taking a breather.

I wonder what Razor had for dinner...

What's wrong with talking about food?

Had a superb dinner at North Italia Blvd. in the Houston Galleria area. 1/2 price wine by the bottle. My kind of place. Mrs. rpen had the diver scallops with risotto. I had the braised short rib with polenta. Did I say superb? We could have done without the thump-thump bass music in the background however. In a full up noisy restaurant what the hell is that about?

I made Italian for dinner last night, a tasty spaghetti carbonara. Washed it down with a meh Chardonnay.

Oh I missed hearing about that. Your race? Everyone ok-ish?
A lot of damage and some substantial injuries. Brent Murphy, the photographer, is staying one more night in ICU due to his head injury. I've emailed him, and he's pretty down, but has his wits about him, so that's good. One other fellow I know has a destroyed bike, chipped teeth, and many stitches and road rash. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VMO...ature=youtu.be |

Better reading than the current edition, right? More funner and less talk about food.

In case anyone was wondering, talking about food is a highly regarded activity in my hometown of New Orleans. Once trained in the niceties of this pastime one is hooked on it for life. In New Orleans the conversation during the current meal is invariably about what will be served at the next. One quite routinely uses the current meal time to plan the next. I didn't get this way by accident.
