FYI- riding at sunset and then again at dawn the next day is a guarantee for maximal smiles per mile.

^ ^ I remember that. I wasn't posting in either thread because you people seemed too weird, but I did read the Covet thread for a while until it got merged.

I love spring because it's when all the "occasional exercisers" come out to jog or ride bikes until the summer gets too hot. Nice to see more people out exercising. |

Almost every time I go out, my intention is to take it easy for once. It never happens. Like coasting, the only way to rest up is to jst not ride at all for a day or two. When I come back, I'm superman.
edit: RIP coasting :(

I apologize for having sinned the last 2600 miles on that machine. I put it together from spare parts and must not been paying attention when I picked the front derailleur out of the parts bin. I'm heading to eBay shortly to find a good used St Campagnolo FD.

Yes, that's how I remember it. My recollection of the "original" Addiction thread was about PCAD's Addict, while the original "Covet" thread was about bike schwag in general. Both kinda de-evolved into what we have now, and so the wise mods decided to consolidate one thread in the 41 which was that one...
We need an Addiction historian to verify the accuracy of this. Can someone else confirm or refute? |

You also have to avoid the lakes at all costs, unless you're at the end of the ride and you want to cool down while enjoying the spring scenery (and by that I mean all of the beautiful people).

They have those in MN? :foo:

Apparently a fair number of the "spring only" riders use Strava, since I have a lot of flybys. I guess someone is a pretty big boy when strava estimates they averaged 260 watts for a 16mph mostly flat ride?

Yes. Yes I do. You've seen wifey in photos. Blond > anything else.
You and our brand new Prez would get along, then? |
You know, it's become very difficult to change a user name. If it was easier, I'd like to become VeloLeones. The artist formerly known as seedsbelize.

Confession: not so much anymore, but in the past when another rider was approaching, I would often have a mental check of hand position and elbow bend. Didn't want to look too casual.
