Did my >100 mile ride today. Felt good and was the strongest of the 10 riders for the last 10 miles. I credit my eating/drinking strategy along with a good deal of wheel sucking the first half of the ride.

For fun I looked up Addiction threads and I saw an Addiction thread I started that predates these Addiction threads. It must have been too clinical, as it did not have a long life.

It would have taken Razor a long time to delete all those posts. Night garbage posts and all.

I was just a pup last time I rode a century, damn near 40 years ago. Did two of them back then, you know, just a group of guys feeling adventurous.
We used to leave from Central Park and ride up to Bear Mountain and back. A few guys made it a regular thing, but I bailed after the second time. I just couldn't see the point in intentionally making oneself uncomfortable. I figured if I'm going to be spending that much energy I might as well be playing a ball sport. :D |

In fact a lot of my rides back then were for the purpose of going to play a ball sport.

My photo shoot was a bit of a fiasco. Lens recommended by you guys was right on. But I thought it was going to be a moving tour so I brought the monopod. Instead it was much more static. We stopped at four places for 25 minutes each. So I could have used a regular tripod quite nicely. My friend was shooting with a tripod at ISO 100 for 20 seconds. I had a faster lens, but still had to shoot at ISO 800 for 1/4 second or so. I'm afraid I got crap. Probably a ton of noise. I am uploading the file now. Stay tuned. More to come.

Tricky call for Koppenberg.

I use Giro Bravos. I tried the Nashbar old timey ones with the crocheted back and they quickly rotted away. Without any gloves, I am unable to maintain any grip on the bars. I've even used Giro Zeros, but they don't wick the sweat as well.
