No, they're skewed to the tail end of the curve, on the right. :thumb:

WTF kinda lunch is that for a man to eat? You pregnant or what?

Balance. Yesterday was a brisket sandwich, sweet potato tots, and 2 IPAs. Today I "enjoyed" some rice cake crisps with my veggie sandwich.

I was moving quick when I hit the hole that pinch flatted and ruined my rim. I was taking a business driveway from the road and the concrete was cracked enough for my wheel to drop in and hit the sharp edge of an unbroken piece of concrete.

I bent a rim but didn't pinch flat after hitting a pothole. I was happy, as that rim never stayed true from day one.

Kind of a stiff panther.

Same, I dented an Easton rim once on a railroad track, but the tire didn't go down. Kinda surprised me, actually.

Part of this job is calling ATT customer service on a regular basis.... Yikes.

Woman told me she'd bring someone on the line to help me call forward then dumped me to an automated message telling me to *72. Thanks lady.

No pinch flats, but I always pump up to generous though not absurd pressures. 85/100 in 23 mm clinchers on narrow rims. Weighing about 170 right now. I ride carefully.

I worry about them under overpasses and short city tunnels where I can't see them. I worry about me in those places too.

Mini survey-

How many of you have pinch flatted?

Never.

And when did reduced pressure become a thing? I've posted that I air to 80-100 p.s.i., and have been asked why so low.

I did 80, got some pinch flats. I do 90+ now, no issues. Did feel like 80 was some decent mush though.

Wider rims allow lower pressure, which also allows for better cornering. In the dirt, it's better traction.

Yes- twice in one ride, on the same tire. But I would chalk that up to noob-ness on my part as it was the first time I had to do a repair on the side of the road on my first, well, "road bike."

Just as another data point, I use the same watch as my primary bike computer on MTB, but I do use it with a chest strap, as that's marginally more accurate (required with my crappy heart).

Also a backup for road rides when your wife throws away your garmin 520, but it can't connect to the power meter. You'd need the Fenix3 HR to do that ($$$$).

I'm home now and this Garmin watch I have is a Vivo Active. Looks like I'll be doing some testing over the next few days to see if I have to invest in a separate HR monitor- either rpenmanparker's wrist band (thanks for that idea, BTW :thumb:), or a chest strap. Choosing a Garmin 520/800/1000, et. al. will have to wait for my brand-new bike purchase, which is still TBD.

I first heard about it about a year ago. On a less than perfect surface, it makes a huge difference. The thing I read suggested droping your pressure by 20%. I thought that was a little extreme, and started with 10%. I eventually made it to 20% though, and the ride improved significantly.

I don't recall ever seeing a reason for editing being posted. I just ignore that field and have managed to slide, so far. What kind of bike are we looking at to replace the beloved custom Denali?

Checking out a little Giro action, while awaiting the lowering of the sun just a bit more. The options greatly increase when one can listen in Spanish.

Even Vol isn't here this time of day.

Heathpack 05-10-17 04:55 PM

Tried out a new coffee place after this morning's ride. Too much time gabbing so I was a little late to work. Worth it though.

Coffee was good but not as good as Peets.
