Nice, in Punta Cana?

That area by Bavaro beach is so perfect for just sitting in the sun and relaxing that I can't imagine the need to go anywhere else for that type of vacation. Minus the Zika thing, of course. The DR is also usually way cheaper than equivalent resorts in other parts of the Caribbean. I think our 8 day honeymoon with flights and a private villa was less than my mediocre crabon bike

Edit: Villa was a free upgrade because they got our room selection wrong, to be fair.

Don't they typically shoulder a lot of liability risk, though? I seem to recall that they were more likely to be the target of $$$$ lawsuits.

That's the irony. They are technically working under "supervision" of a physician. So if there is a problem, you can guess who is liable...

Wha? That's bunk.

I know. But google says typical CRNA malpractice is $3900 per year and anesthesiologist is $15,000 per year. So obviously there is a difference. Also I believe that the very complex cases get physician anesthesia so that's a factor too.

Wife and I renewed our vows for our 25th at an all inclusive in Jamaica. Lovely.

Have we talked about the Browns yet today?

Their owner basically calls the shots at the UTAD, so I feel your pain (if you're a Browns fan).

Frontier from Denver to Cancun is a quick, regular, nonstop flight. If it's an AI, we usually go to the Riviera Maya. Fly into Cancun and head south. Morning flight and on the beach in the afternoon.

DR and Puerto Rico are on the list, but it requires substantially more effort.

That sucks.

I'm starting to see the appeal of gravel.

Grand Lido. But they tore it down in 2015. Not sure what's being put up in its place. But we love Negril. Ran the Reggae half marathon a number of times. Throwing yourself into the waters of seven mine beach after the race is a treat.

We did Sandals Ocho Rios for our honeymoon, 24 years ago. I don't think it exists anymore either.

KenR 05-04-17 08:13 PM

Still a couple Sandals in Jamaica. Definitely one in Negril.

RollCNY 05-04-17 08:21 PM

Yep, the resort chain still exists, but some locations have merged or changed. Something we enjoyed was shuttling between resorts on day trips, hitting different restaurants, all as part of the all inclusive. It was definitely a fun chain.

LAJ 05-04-17 08:22 PM

Buying a Ritte would allow the ownership of their posters. It's just an open mold frame, but they do it OK.

Just checked. There are 4 Sandals in Jamaica, including Ocho Rios.

Some mergers, some lawsuits. The terrain has changed over the years.
