I think that just allowed the team to take their time, and give 18 hours to get to Bakersfield, instead of the normal 20. I was napping in the sleeper we had built in the shell, and next thing I know I'm wide awake after a loud noise, like something hit the side of the truck. I asked what happened, and he said we hit a rabbit. I asked him to pull over to make sure stuff is OK, as it was an awful loud rabbit. After looking at the dually fender, and seeing the green paint on it that was pretty much the same shade as the posts on the side of the road, I drove the rest of the way
Dang green rabbits always causing trouble. |

Lol I didn't even ride with the group today, just met everybody for coffee afterwards after doing openers solo on the TT bike. I was riding home from coffee though and all I could think of was how much I like riding my bike.
"I like my bike. I like the way it feels. I like the way it looks. I like the sound my hubs make when I coast. I like the color. I like my brand new bottom bracket, boy the pedaling feels smooth now. This is a really nice bike path. Oh look at that, old guy on a bike, he looks really fit, that's great. Its a really nice day. Boy that coffee tasted good. It was nice to see everybody at coffee..." |
I miss riding my bike.

All three of them sit directly in front of me, in my office.

I'm looking at them now.

Probably. It might rain. Coach suggests racing without data tomorrow. I understand what he is saying. I am trying to decide how literally to take that recommendation... ;) |

Wait. Is the name Ponzi on their company??
In a pyramid marketing scheme the recruiting of new "agents" becomes more important than actually personally selling the product. You make more money from what your recruited pyramid sells or recruits in turn than from what you sell yourself. Unlike a Ponzi scheme there is no shortage of assets to compensate everyone for their contributions. In a Ponzi scheme little or none of the incoming money is being invested. Incoming funds are used to pay the imaginary earnings of the existing investors as they are withdrawn and the cut taken by the fund manager. The new money is never invested on behalf of the new depositor. |
Trek continues to buy retail stores... Trek plans to buy Bike Line, a Philly-area retailer with 16 stores | Bicycle Retailer and Industry News
datlas take note I used to shop at Bike Line, when I lived in Delaware. |
So driving home from work yesterday on Woodlands Parkway (3 lanes each way @ 50 mph), I saw a tiny kitten in the middle of my lane. I got stopped without getting rear ended by rush hour traffic and put the flashers on. Got out and looked for him and he was gone. I assumed the worst or maybe that he had gotten to the median strip and lost in the tall grass (very small). I got back in my car and drove the remaining 8 or 10 miles home.
Of course it does not end there or I would not have this pic. This morning around 5A I thought I heard meowing coming from the garage. After the 3rd or 4th time I suspected I had a cat in the garage. Finally put the car up on ramps and found him holed up on top of the gas tank. I got him out of there and he promptly ran over to and climbed up under Mrs. Herbie's car. It's a newish Volvo which I learned features many panels that attach to the underside for aero or protect things that I now had to remove to extract the kitten... and of course they were all Torx fasteners. We finally got him out. Neighbor kids are in parental negotiations to adopt.. hopefully they take him. https://scontent.fhou1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...28&oe=59BBFE43 |

And by that I do not mean gun. |
New tire day. Can't decide which look I like better. Both in the same light, and zero processing phone pics:

The bus was only an hour longer than the drive. Piece of cake. I got into trouble when I walked into a restaurant with a sleaveless tshirt. So much for not dressing up. Beautiful place though. Ninth floor overlooking the Carribean.
