Hmmm, did you add the stroller and tires to your equipment list already?

We should open up a bug report with Strava. This is serious.

The lightest Tufo tubular (whatever the name is) is very compact, but quite pricey. I think it weighs 160 g or so. You might consider carrying Pit Stop sealant for instant repairs. It won't work every time, but mostly it will fix small punctures.

Already got some of that sealant. Still might just use the wheels for racing, don't really see the advantage of the crabon for the regular rides.

Tried to make them whoosh but couldn't. I think I just don't have the guads for it. :(

At least the hub is loud as f.

My race day wheels are a set of Enve clinchers I bought for not much from a team mate (older ones that are narrow and not the latest profile).

I'm to lazy to change them out for riding in the summer, so they are also my training / JRA wheels... and they do go whoosh whoosh whoosh.

They probably didn't grease the freehub pawls. Best of luck to you.

Does that mean they will asplode?

If I take the grease off my other wheels, will they also sound cool like that?

Currently 35 PSI, but I continue to dial in to find the right balance between comfort and performance. And of course they're tubeless! All the cool moms kids are running tubeless these days - have you ever tried changing a flat with a cranky infant on your case?

So Oustide Outfitters, the place I had the Seinfeldesque exchange about the term ORDER FULLFILMENT?

Tires still haven't shipped.

To refresh your memory:
I ordered last Tuesday and paid for 2 day expedited shipping.
Website says ORDER FULFILLMENT 2-3 BUSINESS DAYS
Turns out ORDER FULFILLMENT refers to them getting their order from their warehouse, not when I get my order from them
So tires should have shipped on Fri and I should have them today or tomorrow
No email that they've shipped, so I called
They won't even get em from their warehouse until tomorrow.
THEN they'll ship them
MAYBE I'll get them Friday, which would be an ORDER FULFILLMENT time of 9 business days, total time 11 days.
Or maybe I'll get them a week from today, which is an ORDER FULFILLMENT time of 10 business day, or 13 real days.

You're running glitter in the sealant, right? Studies have proven they seal up faster with glitter.

I'd like to buy a pair of enves from a teammate for not much

One of mine tried to get me to buy a pair of SLR0 Giant wheels last year for a really good price, but I just don't feel comfortable racing on expensive wheels until I either feel like the ones I have hold me back, or I can easily replace them if I crash. Right now neither of those things are true.

Well, last week I had guessed you were dealing with Universal Cycles based on them actually having stock of rarish stuff and it also being way cheaper than anywhere else... but you corrected me with the correct name of the store.

Well, I did order from UC, and the stuff got here practically instantly. Just as a point of reference.

Not so instantly for the schwalbe tires I ordered from Germany (r2bike). They did that sig required crap that added on a few days.

Also an out-front mount for that computer. Make sure it lines up with the bar to decrease the frontal area.

You would think we're in General here, with all these noob mistakes on show.

Only one way to find out... soak the hubs in degreaser overnight, then high temperature wash cycle in your dishwasher.

PepeM 05-08-17 11:58 AM

I don't have a dishwasher. :(

Also, I hate to say it, but I have a sneaking suspicion that this isn't the last angry update we're going to get on this transaction. How much do you trust now that these guys are the only ones who actually have the tires in question in stock? Seems interesting such a crappy outfit has a stock of things nobody else can get a hold of...

Are you volunteering (ha) your services? How many months turn-around?

Dan333SP 05-08-17 12:06 PM

Why hasn't anyone suggested clip-on aerobars for the stroller? Marginal gains.

Heathpack 05-08-17 12:16 PM

Hey @LAJ, want to take Mrs. LAJ to the Hyatt Mountain Lodge in Avon for free 5/20-5/27? One of my timeshare friends has a free unit, you don't even have to go hear the sales pitch.

All you have to do is not burn the place down. ;)

You could go any of the days out of that week, you don't have to go all 7 days.

Its one of those things that someone will grab quick, so no telling if its even still available.

Using rjones28's nifty trick, I could complete it in no more than three days.
