Good story.

And that would probably be Milton Street. Went to jail for some bribery/kickback thing regarding airport food vendor contracts. After he got released I would occasionally see him on the SRT. One time he tried to draft me. Without even giving him the look, I dialed it up to 400 watts and droped the hamer on him. True story. My ex saw him several times riding with what appeared to be a Rolex watch. Either it was fake or crime does pay.

Correct, it would have been Milton Street. I don't know if he ever got his custom Havnoonian. My recollection is that it was a gorgeous bike.

p.s. one of the guys I ride with lives near Media and is in frequent contact with Harry. He came out one day test-riding a made in China or Taiwan crabon fiber bike that apparently is being made to Harry's specs and may be coming to a bike shop near you.

I apologize.

"Mountain Biking Changed My Life"

Great blog post.

My favorite quote from this: "Every time we challenge ourselves, a deposit is made in the confidence bank."

Just did some searching. Last post was in June of 2016, seems hard to believe. Not banned, though. Of course, the first post below his was me sharing a photo of a rabbit with a pancake on its head. Keeping it classy.

Wow, it is hard to believe... both that he's been away voluntarily and that it's been that long. He had been banned multiple times, iirc, though - maybe the last time he was banned he just got in the habit of not being here and decided it was better left alone.

Sounds more like a crank arm loosened up.

seedsbelize's rides make me think that it would be very cool if Strava could integrate Google Streetview with a given ride... like a flyby playback, but streetview. When people you're following live in different parts of the world, it could be pretty entertaining.

Adventures in Adulting: I actually forgot I've had a 401k for the last few years until I was reminded that I need to look into rolling it into whatever plan the new company offers.

Nice to log into something and be surprised that there's money sitting somewhere making more of itself that you'd forgotten about.

I don't think that's likely, and I certainly didn't feel any play in it, but it needs to be taken off either way, I guess. Tomorrow. I hope.

Also, SpaceX is in the house this morning. My completely informal office basically has everybody dressed up today for one reason or another.

I had to remove the tags on these dress slacks that were hanging in my closet for the last 3? years...

Previously mentioned "rooster tail" buddy is probably still in an old ironman T shirt riddled with holes, though.

Lemme know when I can get a picture with Musk.

I'm doing that between the few jobs I've had - just littering the financial trail with 401k's and IRA accounts. Hopefully I forget all about one and come back in 20 years to $5 million. That's how it works right?

I'm just shocked and amazed at how quickly I fall out of shape after only a few days of inactivity. I could barely maintain 20 kph this morning. 93°A and 52% humidity. I emptied my pockets, took off my shoes and shirt, and walked into the pool.

Conversely, it's amazing how much stronger you can feel when your consistency goes up. I've ridden 11 of the last 12 days now, and I feel better every day.

Not hammering intervals every day, I've taken some easy days in that time, but I'm hoping I'll be in decent shape come the mountain cabin bike weekend I have planned for the end of the month.

I forgot - the last/first time you mentioned this, the googles must have eavesdropped and then recommended an appropriate youtube video:

Nice.. while we have a ton of trails around my immediate area.. which are now accessible with new mountain bike.. there's not much in the way of riding road - lots of busy roads, traffic around here.. I do miss being able to drop the bike out of the apartment and hit it on some nice back roads with scenery.

I guess I need to go up to Flower Mound to get some nice roads or do my research to find them in the immediate.

You think I'd take advice from a vegan?

NOTHX.

I've just accepted that regardless of how much I train, I'll get dropped hard during that weekend. "Hard" training for me is an easy week for every other person that will be there, and I'm spotting most of them at least 30 pounds. We're talking beanpole Cat 2s.

I'll blame it on their fancier bikes and wheels, though.

The guy who built my ti frame won't build tri bike frames. That's how much he hates them.

Finance girl liked Pho Empire. Is side job hustler who apparently made 3x what I did last year... I mean, I guess it isn't really that hard to do 3x me, but.. hm.
