Have you ever ridden out to Shady Maple? Great riding, and an allegedly good all you can eat Buffet.

I used to lead a ride from there to Mt. Gretna and back. We'd pick up 1/2 price pies at the end. Love the store.

Yup the place is HUUUGE and the cycling in that area is gorgeous. Mt Gretna is charming too, they have an early season tri I have done a couple times.

Eff it, I'm taking the Corvette this morning. I'll ride later when it's above 40ºF

What's a cockroach ride?

It's where you scurry from convenient store to store scarfing down anything resembling food.

Ok, I made that up. A girl in my local club calls trikes cockroaches. ;)

Shouldn't you be practicing friction shifting?

Are they friction? I'll have to go back and read the posts.

I'm an excellent friction shifter.

It's actually cool enough for a daytime ride. Practically unheard of in April. It was downright chilly coming in last evening.

I should have added that Addiction is the ONLY zombie thread I have been it. Unless you count the P&R threads.

You said that like it's a bad thing.

I may rename our regular bike rides. The name probably fits better than for our triking group.

Today is the first day out for my wife, post surgery. Her doc said she could ride a trike but not her upright which she prefers immensely. She says she's riding her regular bike with the local ladies triathlon group tomorrow no matter what. I told her that I'm going to tell her doctor.

Not to denigrate triathlon riders but when I asked her if she thought she would be able to keep up after not riding all winter, she said, "Why? They're just triathletes."

Doctors have ways of knowing the likelihood of sutures popping if stressed too quickly.

I just checked: a frigid 75°A. Only going up to 84. It will surely be a multi layer ride.

That's great news. Kuudos

It just rained overnight and road is a little sloppy.

Problem is I just cleaned the bike last week, which only happens semi annually.

I don't want to go through that again.

I think I saw Fred1 racing on the TV schedule today.

This would be the perfect pace vehicle.

Give her our best wishes for a strong ride.

Glad to hear she's getting back out there!

Addiction Club ride this morning. I took topslop1 out to the country. Bonus points if you can tell which picture(s) has an ass in it.

My wife thanks everyone for all of the well wishes. It was both a semi-letdown and a success. Turns out that we had some hellacious wind on the Prairie so we left the group at 6 miles and detoured into a local town for wind cover before heading back to the car. It was a success in that it was her first ride in 4 weeks and at least she got 13.6 miles.

At first she was somewhat dismayed but after we left the group, we just puttered along on the tailwind and had some quality time together.

she did admit that she probably won't be able to go out with the tri-girls tomorrow as it's supposed to be even windier and she does have some soreness from today's ride.
