Oh, I meant the eggs for families with lots of kids. And I didn't mean only Catholics had chickens, just that that was my own family's memories. I can see how that wasn't clear now :thumb:.

Another minor miracle- despite the injuries to a couple people, the only bike damage in that wreck was 1 broken set of carbon bars, my hanger getting bent, and maybe 1 broken spoke. Bikes are stronger than we give them credit for.

Was everyone riding rebar bikes?

Agree. Even though he hasn't passed yet, the F1 driver Michael Schumacher comes to mind as well. Decades of racing at speed, and then he gets a catastrophic TBI from a low speed skiing incident and will remain comatose. The irony is particularly vicious for people like him and Hayden.

Did you ever see the movie Senna?

Ditto. I park far away from the masses when possible, leaving only one side to worry about dings.

It still amazes me as the height of absurdity when people seek to park as close as possible to the gym door. :wtf:

Man I used to run to the gym. I still would here if it didn't mean crossing a highway.

It was great, wasn't it?

My father had a book of the McLaren history book signed by him. I wonder where it ended up.

I did and loved it. I knew the story in detail before seeing it, but the footage of him the weekend of his death was just so intense. It's like he knew what was going to happen before he got in the car. I was in tears in the theater for that whole bit of the film.

Some people are critical of the movie making him look like a martyr when he was really a very flawed guy in some ways, but I've always been a fan and his death is one of my first memories of that sport.

My usual Sunday racey group ride. Posted about my wreck a couple pages back. TL;DR a kid got his front wheel swiped when he lost concentration at speed and went down along with a bunch of others including me. I'm fine minus 5 stitches in my arm and a sprained shoulder plus road rash.

I saw that, just wondered if it was a ride I was familiar with.

I just don't see why some are even buying-in in the first place. He's a two-down back because he can't catch or pass block very well, he can't run from the shotgun - he needs to run from 7 yards deep with the QB over center - and he needs a lot of touches to find a rhythm... yet he's joining a pass-happy offense built around one of the most prolific QBs in history. Oh, and he's 32 and he averaged something miserable like 2 yards/carry last year before a season-ending injury. Oh, and he'll be sharing the backfield with Ingram. Oy.

I mean, he just might hit the Vikes up for 150 in Wk 1 because Vikings gonna Viking (but at the same time, that D was never allowed to touch him in practice, so they'll be lickin' their chops), but I'd be shocked if he crossed 1k total from scrimmage. Shocked.

Yes and I often park next to a curb or island so that at least one side of the car is protected.

On your second item, there are two Gold Gyms near me and neither has bike racks. I asked at one of the places and they told me there was a tree outside that I could lean my bike against and cable to.

Cardio kills mass, bro.

I had beetroot for supper. Along with beet greens, broccoli, kale, and sweet potato. I couldn't finish it.

The open paves got a good workout today. I could see I was riding on chip seal but I couldn't feel it. Those tires have an odd feel about them in general.
I've also discovered that friction shifters work better with uniglide than hyperglide. Whodathunkit?

PepeM 05-22-17 06:21 PM

Cooked some beaslty carbonara tonight.

Not quite. Very different from cheap tires though. I got them just to see what a nice tire feels like. Are tubulars like riding on clouds?

PepeM 05-22-17 06:25 PM

I have two sets sitting in my drawer. #trekmogullite

seedsbelize 05-22-17 06:28 PM

I got the all black ones, even though green is my favorite color

Shame, the green ones are ace. Pretty much the only reason I got them. Well, also that they were cheap.
