Good news is the weather is looking better, so it's time to head out and ride.

No Everesting attempt today, gang. Just the club's A- ride.

WhyFi 05-27-17 05:45 AM

Well hell, I'm probably down to 190-195 - if that's not built for climbing, I dunno what is. :innocent:

I had my first confirmed tubeless puncture this morning - woo hoo! I was JRAing when I felt a splash on my calf. First thought was, "did I not register a puddle?" Then I heard the ssst... ssst... ssst for ~10 revolutions, looked down and saw the sealant spray on my tool caddy/bottle thingie. It stopped hissing and didn't look like the tire was sagging any more than usual, so I kept JRAing.

Sweet.

Ah, nothing so refreshing as a 6-mile run in humidity so high you can see it by looking across the street.

And, no matter how high tech and wicking your shirt and shorts are, you still come back looking like you just jumped in a pool.

I love it when I'm that sweaty from working hard.

Now that I'm crossing over real segments, I can compare my results. 133rd overall, but 1st today. I managed 89 watts.

I will gladly join in too, though it will take me years to complete. There are small hills in the nearish distance, but I refuse to drive someplace just to ride.

Doug28450 05-27-17 10:37 AM

I could Everest the road the goes over the railroad about a million times.

What, no parking garages available?

Unfortunately, not near me.

If you can't park a cow in it or grow corn in it, they don't build it? ;)

Hey @datlas and everyone else: we should do a group Addiction everesting event. Everybody goes out and climbs as much as they can on some given day and we tally it up (get the resident account to do this) and see how many everests we can do as a group. You can use it as training for your personal Everest attempt. Maybe we can make @Velo Vol's friend a honorary Addictionite if we want to stack the deck.

That sounds like a lot of work.

@seedsbelize needs to post a tutorial on how to ride uphill as fast as you ride on flat terrain.

Jadesfire 05-27-17 12:27 PM

I would have to drive for about 4 hours to get anywhere with hills.

And I would suck at it.

But it sounds like fun. For others :). Y'all have fun.

And pigs. Don't forget the pigs.

Do you live on the Prairie, too? :foo:

How many people are injured during parallel parking as compared to driving?

Inside the car or outside the car?

On vomiting and heat stroke, I agree :p.

BEAUTIFUL day to ride your bike here ya'll. Headed out with a couple of friends who haven't been riding much so are a little out of shape. But are great company to ride with and don't need to dither with extensive stops. Perfect.

We wound up doing 65 miles and 4500 ft of climbing. Just felt easy, no one pushed too hard. The best part was at the end- a 15 mile 2% descent which was into a deliciously cool fresh headwind. I just got off the front and hunkered down into the drops for 45 min of pedal pedal pedal into the wind. Sometimes I just don't want a draft, I like pushing into the wind on my own.

Anyway, just a perfect easy ride.

:roflmao2:

See, this is Exhibit A of how much people can differ. If *I* haven't been riding much (and I haven't), I'm not doing 65 miles with 4500 ft of climbing. Maybe 6.5 miles with 450 ft of climbing . . . on a GOOD day . . . but not the former.

Clearly "a little out of shape" means different things to different people.

I can't stop laughing.
