I droped a guy with an ironman calf tattoo on a TT bike today. That was nice.
And the tattoos are mostly on the inferior athletes. None of the fast ones I know have the M-dot. So what you did was roughly the equivalent of dropping the guy in the full Astana kit. Fun, but meaningless. |

I had my first confirmed tubeless puncture this morning - woo hoo! I was JRAing when I felt a splash on my calf. First thought was, "did I not register a puddle?" Then I heard the ssst... ssst... ssst for ~10 revolutions, looked down and saw the sealant spray on my tool caddy/bottle thingie. It stopped hissing and didn't look like the tire was sagging any more than usual, so I kept JRAing.
Sweet. |

That is changing though, and there will be more collisions until it gets sorted out. One of my last bike rides, I would have been head oned twice had I been in a car. Once by the police.

It's the downhills that pull the average up.

BEAUTIFUL day to ride your bike here ya'll. Headed out with a couple of friends who haven't been riding much so are a little out of shape. But are great company to ride with and don't need to dither with extensive stops. Perfect.
We wound up doing 65 miles and 4500 ft of climbing. Just felt easy, no one pushed too hard. The best part was at the end- a 15 mile 2% descent which was into a deliciously cool fresh headwind. I just got off the front and hunkered down into the drops for 45 min of pedal pedal pedal into the wind. Sometimes I just don't want a draft, I like pushing into the wind on my own. Anyway, just a perfect easy ride. |

Just the power meter. Mine is useless with just the HR monitor. literally doubles the number reported with the power meter.

I can't decide if you people are a good influence or a bad one- the Garmin HR strap will be here on Tuesday. At least with Amazon rewards points, the technology I'll wear won't cost more than the bike :).

For the best calorie count, this may help. https://www.powertap.com/product/powertap-gs-hub |
My favorite pic from PedalFest, the six year old daughter of an acquaintance. She sees Daddy use his Garmin when racing and she *had* to borrow it for her race too!
She is my new hero. :) http://i771.photobucket.com/albums/x...10319BA650.jpg |
She looks like she's hardcore.

Sweet. 10 minutes later forgot about it at the top and took a straight fast descent. At the right turn at the bottom the front wheel slipped out like it was on ice. Road rash and bent bars. Lesson learned. |
