I knew there had to be a miscommunication somewhere. Humidity in Phoenix is impossible, thankfully.

During Monsoon Season, it storms daily at 4pm, leaving it super humid and hot all night and into the morning until about 10am.

Triple digits with high humidity is a thing there.

Why choose?

I'm not seeing much of a boost from the trumpet videos. Could be me, or it could be there's only so much you can gain from such a video.

As Jay Pritchett says about poutin, "I'm not poutin any in my mouth."

Wonder where datlas is this morning, surely his ride got cancelled by the stupid rain.

If you'd like to dine at a reasonably-priced spot in Quebec city, one where the locals go, try L'Échaudé (73 rue Matelot [418 692 1299]). We've been going there once/twice a year since '93 or so. Food is always very good; lots of local ingredients. Wine list is excellent.

LOL indeed. My poor country is riddled with this nonsense; fills our universities, op-ed pages, and airwaves (CBC). Funny prima facie, but ultimately irritating -- a bit like our current Prime Minister.

In many cases, it is you, but in this instance, not so much.

One poutine shop in Montreal is called Vladimir Putine. Cute, eh?

Not hot.

Correct. Went to Home Depot with the mrs, then a lunch date at a Japanese place. May try a ride later, but I can't get greedy as I had fantastic rides on Saturday and Sunday.

Weather in Quebec City turned out beautiful today, but rain is coming tonight and tomorrow. Taking advantage while we can.

So...At my local Whole Foods they are now putting calorie contents on many bake goods. Saw several cookies with more that 500 calories each, inclduing vagan cookies. And I am not talking hub cap size cookies. Some of the cup cakes have over 800. The highest thing I saw was a sticky bun at something 980 calories.

It's warmer in Glacier National Park than it is in Philly.

Dan333SP 05-29-17 12:53 PM

Oh boy. I haven't bonked in a while, but when it happens... ouch. Did 50 miles in 92 degree heat with a bagel 2 hours before the ride and 2 bottles. Felt great until I turned around into a headwind, then... done. Time for a recovery beer and bahn mi

Heathpack 05-29-17 12:53 PM

We and all our stuff are finally on the boat, only 3.5 days late. My legs are tired, and I'm feeling lazy. Just made some coffee.

Hopefully under way within the hour. Then a week of mountain biking, socializing and laying around on Catalina Island.

:)

Did our yearly Memorial Day ride. I felt like crap and was eager for it to finish. No idea why. I dislike feeling crappy on the bike and having no idea why. :(

Me too. It can be weirdly unpredictable, both mighty days and puny days.

Sometimes it makes sense though. I'm feeling GREAT on the bike, there's no stopping me, I am Wonder Woman. Then we turn around and I realize: tailwind! Doh I've been caught by that one more times than I can count.

LesterOfPuppets 05-29-17 01:49 PM

We caught the 108th Army Band for Memorial Day.

Thanks. I will pass that on to my SIL, the chef, who is in charge of the dining selections.

In the photo below the real Ferrari is on the right, the White Trash Ferrari is on the left.

Are you saying that you are white trash?

patentcad 05-29-17 03:03 PM

So I just cracked 2300 miles for 2017 which is rather pathetic by Pcad's standards, but probably still more than a lot of you 41 fatsos have managed to ride so far. My year is effed however, I'll have to have shoulder surgery around July 10-15 which will probably knock me off real bicycles for 5-6 weeks (I'll be in a sling). Worse, no Corvette driving (stick shift). Worse still, no guitar playing. Oh well. I am trying to learn to play piano, I can tinkle the ivories with my left hand for a month.
