Awesome. Which design did you take? :)

I managed to make it up after a few tries. There's video, but I'm too fat to post it.

I think my success rate on that thing is like ~60%. It's actually extremely difficult. Probably a 25 degree incline right there, and then the radius is tighter than any bike can do. You have to cut the corner, stall out, and then as you rotate hop up on just the rear wheel and then hit the gas.

Going fast on a bike is easy. Going slow is hard-core.

Edit: video also exists of me NOT making that thing. But I just put a foot down, nothing spectacular.

I hope that bike on the video is not crabon. Otherwise it should go straight to the bin.

I did the watercolored route / cue sheet / one with trail conditions painted on it.

Ordered one to hang onto for a gift for the holidays to family that doesn't bike that's how much I liked it.

The one I ordered as a gift was KOM.

topslop1's frame is mostly AL. Mine is all that fancy hi mod crabon, but I crash it plenty. In fact, I was not only fat in said video but already bleeding all over the place. I found out how fast was too fast in a banked turn... the bike stands up then you go flying over the top of the turn into sharp bushes.

Famous last words were something like "see if you can't do this whole section without touching your brakes."

Nice. Not really sure which one I like better, they're both cool. I wish I didn't buy my handlebar bag when I did so that I could pick up one of those.

Probably because Penguins. I did try to warn Velo Vol; he offended the Hockey Gods by thinking it funny that no Canajun team has won the Mug in ages. Now we see the result of that mockery.

Good news: the cleat nuts in the soles of my shoes are replaceable for about $10.

Bad news: The Fiziks that I tried on felt so nice that I'm thinking about getting them anyway.

Complete crock. They disallowed a goal because the idiot official wrongly blew the whistle and then the Penguins scored that pathetic goal in the last 90 seconds.

I didn't think the Predators would win the series, but I thought they could win their home games.

This was the first Final featuring two American-born coaches. The current continues to flow southward. How do you like that?

Where did all these exotic birds come from?

Velo Vol 06-12-17 01:11 PM

I saw The Convalescent ahead of me in the Strava standings and I panicked.

If they did, they would sue C&H sugar because they think "H" sounds like "Allez".

If sharp enough, that could be a respectable picture cropped tight.

How elegant could he be if he eats carrion? Yuck.

Actually don't care all that much. The only pro sports I follow at all closely are cycling and football (soccer). I pay a little attention to rugby when the World Cup rolls around. That's about it.

Far as I can tell, today's NHL teams are no more 'national' than the typical first-division football team in any large European country: the Preds or the Pens are Canadian/American/Euro hybrids, just like every other NHL team?

How tight is tight? And how sharp is sharp?

Reliably being able to get a certain amount of mileage in on a regular basis without hurting; myself/having major mechanical issues/wanting to vomit at the end of the ride;

So, this morning, after about eight months since I first though about doing this, I have successfully completed my first bike commute to work. I can't say I loved every minute of it while I was doing it(mostly because I am just not naturally a morning person), but now that I am showered and I have a cup of coffee in front of me I can think of it as fun. And I am looking forward to the return leg home this afternoon (even though, yes, I will probably get rained on).

How far is your commute?

Why would anyone think you incapable? Of course you are capable.

Thanks for the closure, such as it is.
