Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That's a minutely small slice.

Ranting against function, form, utility and personal choice really is an unbelievable thing to me, especially when it comes to cycling. Riding a few miles at a time along garbage strewn roads is a far cry from completing a brevet in an allotted amount of time or hanging with a lead pack in a race. Rant about something important and leave the retro-grouch garbage out there on the porch.

Just his whole vibe. Also, terrible businessman.

Bought a MET Manta helmet. The Euro version is allegedly 200 grams while the US version is supposed to be 260. I weighed mine at 220. Light plus aero = lots of win. Not super comfortable but who cares about that, right?

I've had pizza from the original before. We ordered it in when I worked at the CPA firm in WSP.

The quality of discussion in this thread has gone to **** lately. I blame all this tacky post count padding. Really, I've hardly seen anything interesting in here in days, now.

Like 95% of the comments in here now are less than 10 words. Is this a useful thing? I vote not.

They're ****ing imaginary internet points. I don't mind that some of y'all value them, but please don't make the rest of us endure this crap for the sake of collecting them. It's as tacky as talking politics/religion, IMO.

And if you can't tell, I'm kinda grumpy today. Second day in a row I've had to be in the office at 5 something am. This make Judd not a happy person.

I'm not sure what you're implying, but I'd say that we're probably not a bad cross-section of cycling enthusiasts - we've got racers, commuters, CAT 6 MUP-racers and weekend-warriors, etc. Basically, I'm saying that the functional benefit of cycling-specific shorts/bibs is so pronounced and so widely accepted that I have a hard time believing that someone with a good amount of saddle time would rant against them.

95%? I think you exaggerate. Extra sentence to exceed ten words.

I'm sure that @jtaylor996 will correct you in that slices of pizza are not triangles - something about arcs described by the moment of inertia when tossing the pizza dough or something.
