Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It was heavy, around 12 lbs. I use to rig up a sling for it when I carried it on hikes into the mountains. A beast to handhold for action but sometimes I could pull it off.

But if gave me some of my all time favorite shots!

These are definitely some keepers. You should get the critters to sign modeling releases.

Do you have a greater sage-grouse? @BillyD is a no-show.

Just got back from a 50 mile organized event. I forgot my fruit cake but luckily, they were passing out "Fruit & Nut" granola bars. Close enough.

Just stopping by to remind Billy that he should be pulling good ole American plugs on disc brake threads-

I guess pulling a Euro plug is more pro, though.

I've never shot them though they are around here.

I actually was talking to a buddy at work last week about these. He's going to hook me up with some private owned land to shoot some. I've got other grouse but just find them pretty boring to shoot. Some of them are just plain stupid birds. They don't spook and you can walk right up on them.

Totally agree. Jersey, arm warmers, vest is much more versatile than a jacket, which is too hot for me a lot of the time.

Actually, SAS express shipped some replacement bibs for me, so no exchange for a vest, but I am still considering purchasing one while the sale is on.

You know how your awareness of a particular car goes up once you own one? I never knew how many damn Sportwagens were out there until I started driving one, but now they're everywhere. Now that it's on the edge of my mind, I have a sneaking suspicion that the times when it would be nice to have a vest will shoot up dramatically, 'specially as we creep closer to autumn.
56° is arm warmers for me.

Tubulars. That new-fangled clincher technology is suspect.

It rained hard for a short time, while I was at the bike shop today. I had the top down on the Jeep.
