Foiled Again
At the risk of seeming interested in this skull-farked forum, I present the latest upgrade in the ongoing Pcad Road Bike Saga. Trading the 2014 Foil Premium for a 2017 Foil Premium (new design since last year). I'll eBay the OEM Zipp 303s (what possessed Scott to spec this allegedly 'aero' racing bicycle with 303's vs. 404's or even 808's is a Marketing Fail Analysis for the ages) and stick with my 3 year old Wheelsmith 404s (G3 Powertap, and yes, these rims are dimpled like golf balls) so's I don't have to buy a power meter. That's a bike that has an MSRP of $11K, but by the time I'm done eBaying my old Foil crap and some other stuff I have around here I think I wind up on a new bike for $3K in cash or less. The 2017 has the new D.A. 9150 Di2 group. Or whatever Shimano is calling the generation that comes after the 9000. I have the D.A. 11 speed mechanical on the Addict and it's the best mechanical group I've ever ridden. But Di2 rules, I've had it on the Foil for 3 years, I like it. Very reliable. No cables to *snap*.
Bicycles are fine, but the C7 is considerably more badass.

That 2014 Scott Foil was by far the best road bicycle I ever had. Everybody kept telling me how stiff and uncomfortable it was supposed to be. I never found that, always loved it. The 2016 Addict I ride sometimes (that's the rain bike) has a more compliant ride, but the Foil's stiffness never bothered me at all. Maybe that's because my idea of a stiff race bike are like the older Cannondale aluminum bike I once old. That aluminum bike- now THAT bike had a crappy ride. And I still liked the Cannondale for how it handled, climbed, etc. Carbon fiber bikes are very good @ absorbing road shock and vibration, even the stiffest ones.
The 2017 is supposed to be a far more vertically compliant and comfortable bicycle.

Oh, you have a corvette? You should share more photos of that!
You say your crabon is vertically compliant, but is it also laterally stiff? Just seems impossible that it could be both. That'd be some kind of miracle.

Sold my C5 Z06 at the end of May. Probably the only sports car I've owned that I won't miss.

I much prefer Porsches, but if you want to get around a track fast, on a limited budget, C7 Corvette really is the tool of choice.

Let's do a bicycle race up Mt. Doom fatso.
In the meantime, get off my lawn.

Pound for pound the fastest track car you can buy in a new car showroom at the moment- from any manufacturer, the cars regularly turn faster lap times than pricey mid engine Euro sleds with more hp. I drove a 718 Cayman S around the time I bought the C7. Feels more like the archetypical small sophisticated Euro sports coupe. Equipped like my Z-51 Stingray, the sticker was $10K higher, but the drive it home price was about $13K higher. Porsche was higher quality (Porsches are the highest quality cars sold in USA at the moment in my opinion) but the Corvette was only 20% crappier, not half as good as it was with the C6. And the Corvette motor is (much) better. The Z-51 Stingray is also faster around a track than a Cayman S (I can cite a couple of sources for that). The new Corvette is so improved in so many ways, just more world class. You can make moves in my current car that would have put you in weeds with the C6. That being said I did love the Cayman S. Great friggin car.

P.S. If you're a Porsche guy and you haven't driven a Corvette, drive a C7. If you drove its predecessors and didn't like them, the current car is similar in some respects, but really a huge transformation from the first Corvette I owned (2007 C6 Coupe). That cranky Brit jerkoff on Top Gear gave the car his car of the year award in 2014 and that guy always HATED Corvettes.
