Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've never set mine for running. Perhaps that will do the trick. Set on cycling, mine doesn't operate walking from the house to the street.

Crap. Fail. I was good at photofukit but not Imgur. It's not intuitive to me.

So I am considering trying to epoxy this crack, but probably should pitch the wheel. Sad!

Exactly hit my power target for my TT today, rode my splits well, and PRed it by 3 seconds.

But I'm still kind of annoyed because I came in third out of four.

Mind you, the field was comprised solely of state TT champions (three different age groups and one TTT champ), but still. They are exactly who I should be racing against, the competition is appropriate.

Gotta get faster, I guess.

Mrs datlas and I just came back from a walk around the block. It's "bulk trash" day tomorrow. One neighbor had three "Murray" old 10 speed bikes left out. I would have considered taking them to rehab, but they are "ladies" frames and I have too much junk already.

Sweet ride, LAJ. How many miles and how many feet did it end up? Did you get back before the rain?
Thanks, sbxx. 52 miles with 9K elevation. Keeping cadence at 40 was the hard part on those things. Missed the rain up there, and even had time to mow the lawn when I got back before the rain hit here.

It won't work. Believe me, I tried on my Rail, and thought I did a good job, but the forces are big and nasty on rims.

Yeah I figure I should pitch it, sadly. Luckily I use these crabon wheels only May-September and have aluminum hoops for the rest of the year. Will consider buying a new wheel (or maybe a pair) next year. Of course I will post my questions in the 41. I like the November Rail wheels but they have been discontinued.

...that's a shame. Old Murray bicycles are very useful for ballast and anchoring, if you ever get into boating.

I would try to inject some drugstore epoxy into the crack with a syringe/big gauge needle and then clamp it with a a C clamp or similar. That should do it. I doubt you would ever be reminded of the problem again. BTW you do know what a syringe is, right? Just checking.

Yeah, I was surprised and saddened when I saw they were discontinued. It makes sense, but I loved mine (wish I still had them...) and there's nothing carbon out there at that price point that I'd trust as much. And they looked so good.

It's funny, AG was just looking through her pics from her first IMTX where she used my front one.

Yes I know what you are suggesting. I don't know how to determine if the repair would have structural integrity, though.

Possible @Velo Vol sighting from today's ride.

PS note the Ksyrium Elite on front but Williams still on rear.
