Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is it just me, or is Herbstreit looking a touch chunkier than he used to?

I was the highest bidder on ScamBay for a pair of Sidi winter shoes, but it was a “reserve” auction and the reserve price was not met.

Does that mean the deal is off?

No. It was the church's mini-orchestra. Tonight their realer band had a concert. It had an oboe and three bassoons.

But it was no Knoxville Community Band, obviously.

I've not seen a place that has so much car washing. In the city there's a place every 1-2 miles. This afternoon there was a line up at one of them that circled around and went all the way out onto the highway.

Dumb.

I'm going to go off in search of this road tomorrow. If you never hear from me again, it's been fun.

The turn-off.

The Saturn laughs at salt. Although I reckon the subframe can rust.

You're too far north. Down in Yellow Springs, there are probably some.

Went out for a movie date. We saw “Lady Bird.” It was good. I checked and it has a 99% on Rotten Tomatoes. That’s pretty high. We watched “Citizen Kane” last night on DVD with daughter #2, and that one has 100%.

Yes, but you may able to contact the seller and ask him to relist it for the amount you bid. I bought the Giant frame that way. The seller put it back on as a best offer sale and accepted the amount we had agreed upon.

I have never understood the popularity of Citizen Kane. I find it boring, pretentious, slow...all around awful.

Well there you go. I think it is trash. “Rosebud!” Give me a break.

You want the best film ever? I give you “Casablanca”.
