Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

@Velo Vol has been conspicuously missing. Sad!

I was hoping he was out riding, but I do recall saying he was off the bike. Sad!

I woke up to rain.

That has since switched to snow.

And it is headed to -19C tonight.

Winter sucks.

Winter sucks.
This Winter has been weird. Colder than usual, greater-than-average snowfall. Then. Bam! 50 degrees and raining one day, all the snow melts, flooding. And -5F and snowing the next day. There is usually a mid-Winter thaw in January, but we've had like 3 or 4 of them.

Agree. What I find bothersome about this year's pattern is that the freeze/thaw/snow/rain cycles have led to most days having ice or snow on the back roads in my area, which makes cycling unsafe.

I don't really mind riding in sub-freezing temps but I can't ride with icy roads. Sad!

Maybe it's not the lack of food, it's the lack of caffeine? They do have caffeinated water now. It's not bad.

Coffee is never included in a fast, except for bloodwork.

Sitting in the bus terminal, on the way to Mérida. Today is the day we find out if there is chance of getting the car back.

If I were to give up coffee, I would have been fired already. The coffee stays.

Seems funny that the consensus pick for Sunday is in fact the Iggles. I am unconvinced. And will be watching Top Gear with AG on Netflix.

I've gotten the trainer completed now with the new tire and cleaned up the desk. Neat freak!

The $105 monitor for a few buck extra now approximates a fully functional TV with remote. Emphasis on approximates.
