Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I am not about that farmer tan life, sunblock sucks, and even sunblock has trouble keeping up with the Texas sun for more than a couple of hours.

I'd buy decent summer LS jersey, too. Sunsleeves are nice, but I can't recall if I've ever taken them off/put them on mid-ride and they slip down regularly, causing that oh-so-unsightly gap.

edited to add: not knowing anything about the Exo, I looked it up - R&A has one or two in M, L & XL on closeout for $104 in black/titanium.

I was planning on doing my first metric of the year and the boy has his last field trip of the school year today... and then we woke up to wind and rain, which may scuttle both of our plans unless it clears soon.

I am more bummed for him that for me, but I'm still a little bummed for me.

We tropical folk go indoors and chill when it's that hot outside. The locals too.

I'll think of the brand eventually. I wear sunblock long sleeve shirts which cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $20. Solid colors. Quilted. Of course I'm just an old chunk of coal and couldn't care less what the serious cyclists think of that. No offense intended toward any serious cyclists in the audience.

We've sold two pair of sun sleeves, since I've worked at the bike shop. Both to the same guy.

But, this is Syracuse.

Signed up with ridewithgps. They allow out and back segments and appear generally more flexible than Strava. We'll see.

I'm currently being mesmerized by a Roomba making it's first plot of the house. It's been running over an hour and has yet to be baffled. It got into a couple nasty spots that I thought it would never get out of but it did.
