Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Same, which you would know if you watched the informative video. You can even get a license plate.

Trifecta today: won my race, PR’ed the course, won the 2018 series

Then: mimosa brunch

Just looked at data: hot damn, that was pretty well ridden.

Kudos.

Let me ask: when you're hammering along, do you have music going in your head? Not necessarily literally (is listening to music allowed?) But you may be pedaling along to the rhythm of some tune.

Nope. Not much room in my brain for music during a TT. It’s hard to think about much more than continually checking on HR-Power-resp rate/quality-RPE. It’s like a scroll in my brain, just assessing continually to try to ride the perfect edge of as-fast-as-possible-without-blowing-up.

And then as the line approaches, I wonder why time has suddenly taken upon itself to defy physics, and move 3 times it's normal speed.

I guess one has to see it. The only real-time feedback I get is speed, which doesn't require much mental processing. So I repeat a loop of two or three songs over and over again.

That wouldn't be an accomplishment, then. Imagine the new friends we might make with some new digs.
